The possibility that we'll have Clinton, Kenny and McGuire as our three top props in 2010 does not exciting me at all.

There were rumours of us signing Matt Scott and Ben Ross - both of these have been squashed. Where do we go from here? If we don't sign a descent prop we can kiss goodbye to final footballs against in 2010.

Yep, very skinny in the prop area. Lets hope Hala or Lui (or both) are a revelation next season.

I don't think we can afford to expect under 20's props to step up and fill the void. Most Props don't hit there straps until mid to late 20's

I don't expect them to, that's why I used the word "hope"...

Yeah I know but it looks like the club is expecting the young props to be ready. The Broncos have made no real attempt to sign any other forwards which has me worried.

Where was this stated ?

I was kinda hoping we might've picked up Ben Ross cheap as he's openly stated he'd like to have a run with us :?

I read into today's Sunshine Coast Daily (Ben Ross comes from here) that he's going to sign with the Rabbits.

Looking at the props currently unsigned, there's only Scott Geddes (Rabbits) who has experience and is above average (just).

There's also John Kite (Bulldogs) and Michael Greenfield (Rabbits), both young, but both with potential. And I read that Matt Scott signed a three year deal with the Cows.

You're right. I'm surprised that the Broncos didn't fight very hard for Matt Scott. Surely we have heaps of room under the cap, with Hunt and Taylor gone, and Lockyer taking a pay cut :?.

Broncos fan!

Geddes just re-signed the other day I think.
What about some players like Vaeau, Sweeney, Laeafa from the QLD cup. Sweeney has been close to selection a few times this year. The other two I said are both in their high 20's with a little bit of experience already and are big units who are going well in the QLD cup and would be cheap as.

Scott Geddes re-signed with Souths, John Kite is contracted til 2010 and Michael Greenfield has signed with the Dragons.

Watched Sweeney today ... honest toiler and that's about it. Probably not big enough. Doesn't have Asotasi like footwork either.

Vaeau also played today and looked capable. He's built low to the ground, but doubt if he's the forward leader we're looking for.

Quality front rowers are getting like hen's teeth!

There's some quality front rowers in the uk,nrl should cast its net in superleague, backs are way behind nrl quality but the forwards are much better

Aussie and NZ props currently in British Superleague: Mitchell Sargeant, Ryles, O'Hara, Peek, Bryant, Heckenburg, Cusack, Vella, Cashmere, Stapleton, Stapleton, Cayless, Stosic, Rauhihi, Palae'asina.

Of that lot, Cashmere, Cayless and Palae'asina are the only of interest. Ryles at a stretch.

James Graham certainly looked the goods in the World Cup and was probably the only straight up NRL standard player in their ranks.

Probably all just academic really ... how many would say goodbye to $100,000+ a season.
