i agree the afl does it and they have a bigger tv deal than we do so why cant we?Tell us what team we are playing, where and what time before the season starts, none of this 6 weeks out rubbish to satisfy TV stations. That is all I care about.

so how is it the afl can charge more for their rights AND force the networks to do a yearly draw? maybe if gallop stopped giving our tv rights away for the equivalent of a $2 mcdonalds voucher we might be able to change thingsThat's not going to change until the next TV deal kicks in which is in 2013. It's a bit of a Catch-22 sacrifice money to enable this... or get the best deal possible to maximise the income from the NRL and thus increase the salary cap. At the moment the networks decide the scheduling of games and that's what they for for in TV rights.
rd 1 vs Broncos at home
rd 2 vs Warriors at home
rd 3 vs cowboys away
rd 4 vs panthers at home
rd 5 vs Manly at home
Brisbane Broncos will enter life without club champion Darren Lockyer with a first-round hitout against Parramatta, who will be showing off new recruit Chris Sandow.
Home game to start? That can't possibly be right...
And against Brisbane of all teams? I call bullshit.
I hope we play the donks in bris next yr. It just felt wrong not doing it this yr. Eels hav 2 many bris fans 2 deny it again.
We play Cowboys, Raiders and Titans all once away from home and Warriors, Storm and Roosters all once at home.
Not bad considering that Warrior and Storm are both difficult trips!!
