Hmmm, away to Canberra in mid-May. Could be worse I suppose...

Thats true but if I had to pick the 3 worst away games you would say Canberra, Warriors and Melbourne. Canberra is probably the worst but 2/3 isnt bad, the good think is Gold Coast and Nth Qld are probably great away games because they generally provide dry tracts for attractive football.

Well we better get off to a good start as it is a tough run home with many away games. How hard is it to schedule a draw that is predominantly alternating between home and away games?

Good part of the draw is only playing the Cheating Merkins and the Warriors once and both at home.

Plenty of home games to start - must win most of them or we are in trouble.

Still annoyed they havent set the actual days and times for the games.

Yes we can't afford to get off to a slow start. We need to capitalize on all our home games to start the season. We will be pushing it uphill if we get off to a slow start and have to win all our away games at the end of the season.

I know some of you guys wont like me putting this up, but sydney play GWS in the afl a week earlier then the start of the afl season at homebush.

That week Parramatta play penrith plus Souths, Tigers and Bulldogs all play at home!! (this may mean 3 games at ANZ that weekend) The only NSW team that are playing outside of sydney that week are Easts (obviously not a target for GWS) and Cronulla (who have no fans anyway).

Very impressive NRL, anyone want to speculate why the draw was left so late

Sadly the full draw is NOT yet out. This is the 'round by round' draw which is indicative of whot we will play each round.

The full draw for the NRL only becomes available a few weeks before games are played. That tells us what DAY we actually play.

Also, on the draw (as I can see it anyway) it doesn't say where we play. Just who the home team is (ie, is it an ANZ game or Parra stadium).

Would be nice if the NRL could lay down the law when negotiating the new TV rights deals and actually state what day everyone plays well in advance!

i like warriors v manly i think this should become an annual thing in round 1 every year have a grand final rematch at the losers home ground just to kick the new season off with a bang
