Oh Boyd was tough alright. Nobody wanted to tackle him when he was at full pace. And he absolutely pole axed bigger players with legit tackles. It is just a pity that the hype of the aggressive era went to his head and he made some stupid moves. There were two factors at play back then a) the Fibros vs Silvertails hype, and b) SOO mate against mate. Everyone was invested in the hype and Boyd pretty much took everything personally and played it up for the fans as much as anyone.
