did you miss the bit about it being more than just ticket Amount? Also about corporate sales and hosting fee.
But it’ll all come down to total money to be made, whichever city/venue offers the most money will host it. That’s the simple bit lol.

We are talking the whole tournament though.

You could have 1/4 finals at SFS, Comm bank, Penrith and Accor

Then the Final at Accor...Have the whole week or corporate stuff.

That is the sort of Package NSW as a whole can bring.

That will have been nearly a 1/4 of a century ago by the time the 2027 final comes around , & in that time the chorus of criticism & disapproval for homebush has reached new heights , its not a word class venue , it just isn't

While the MCG isn't either for rectangle sports , it is a world class venue generally speaking & is a genuine threat with its 100K capacity to accor in its present state.

What makes it not world class?

I haven't seen any band, Concert promoter or sporting body say anything similar. Hell Barcelona was here the other week and nothing

Time will tell but Homebush isn't losing big events and while that stays the case work won't get done. These things are political and NSWRU and QRU have the most power.

Melbourne will get pool games

It's clearly just a ploy to fast track a refurb of Stadium Australia. Hopefully this doesn't affect funding for our suburban grounds. The Rugby final will be in Sydney. As it should be.

You could but that would require the NSW Govt stumping up tens of millions in hosting rights. Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne will all be going hard at hosting at least a Semi. NSW would have to outbid them all.

I can see a semi at Optus, a semi at Accor or SFS and the final at MCG. That would likely be max revenue generation option.

Maybe 1/4's at HBF Park, AAMI park, Commbank and Suncorp. Then you'd have the WA, NSW and Vic Govt paying for a 1/4 final and semi final/final package on top of however they spread the group games. Nice dosh in that.

They play 7's all over the world.

More to the point. Where have they played on an oval?
7's haha
yea thats the same

& its not just an oval , theres 100K seats around it in a world class facility , & they won't care one iota about the " experience " for a one off game if it makes sense commercially

this is how the threat from the NRLs GF came about , the grape vine saying the roof's money was coming out of the 800 million package for suburban venues

Vlandys put a stop to that
RA is now ensuring they get that roof with their threat & the RWC final is the leverage

i guess thats a win win for us , we get
parramatta
allianz
some new suburban venues
& a roof on accor

Again what makes Accor not world class?

70k in there it is very good. For the rectangle sports

Victoria can't compete with the new stadia NSW Can. Even AAMI doesn't meet RU's criteria

So can wine and dine the big wigs all in the same city

No one likes it , so stop with your .. theres nothing wrong with it nonsense , no one is listening
Its nothing but a half assed attempt at turning a former oval into a rectangle , it was effed up by trying to retain its ovalness for aflol mainly & it needs to be fixed. So says everyone

& now , so says RA
They have leverage , lets hope its used well.

I couldn't care less where the RWC is played actually , but if it gets some much needed work done on that pig of a venue at homebush , all the better

It isn't going to get updated that is the thing. We are talking a 20 year old stadium that still gets events.

In a time where everyone has their hand out. NRL was fortunate to get what it did...

The new government won't do it. So it is what it is

The north and south stands begin 30m from the dead ball line, absolutely shitful to watch a game from anywhere in either stands.

Bottom bowl rake is too shallow which has then pushed the top tier too far back. The requirement for the running track in the original config when it was built doesn't help the top tier either. I've sat in the top tiers of 3 80k NFL stadiums and the view from up top at all 3 shit all over Accors sight lines. I've sat up there for 2 GF's and it was an utter waste of time and I may as well stayed at home.

Throw in the fact there is zero around the joint before and after the game except for the Homebush Novotel, it's honestly far from world class. Throwing the new big screens on the South end are pure lipstick on a pig, if anything the ends needed knocking down and sliding closer towards the dead ball line.

The joint is shit.

if the North and South stands are too far away from the dead ball lines. Perth or MCG are better?

As for the other stuff. RU has the rule in place that only stadium's that hold 70k can host finals

Or you would have it at SFS or Suncorp which ticks of most of those things.

Our summer sport being played on an oval. With half the country liking AFL leaves big events like this played in poorly viewing grounds.

T20 WC this year won't have any of these issues

So you've already called the election to Labor , haha
that'd be news to Dom Peritot

& the NRL was fortunate was it ?

My comments are purely about Accor not being world class. I don't give a shit about Perth, MCG and/or the RU World Cup.

Exactly

none of these stadia got updated for union and they will get some benefit out of it

let them make a deal with the nsw govt to get a roof on accor. It’s an extra 300 million going to stadiums we use whilst our money can be directed at places where it’s better used like surburban grounds

Accor ranks very low in Quality RL stadiums.

But we are talking world events. An International Soccer team played there just the other week.

While ever Accor is used for such events it is world class

That is it.

Is it the best stadium the NRL use?

Not even close but for certain major events it is best option we have
