Even though he got done again it has ironically worked out for the best this titime
Doesn't work well for Penrith who lose out on a state of the art stadium to get a second rate upgrade of their existing ground.
Wonderful!!!!
It just screws the Penrith region once again!

No, you just don’t broadcast everything. You also don’t lacerate the government or other stakeholders in public no matter how you privately feel about them.

Essentially you don’t negotiate through the media - just say no comment or we have nothing to say at this point in time, move on and deal with it in private.

Even though he got done again it has ironically worked out for the best this time
when the media are saying you're incompetent & have egg on your face when infact ... you were diddled , you have a right to call out the facts

I think his rattling the cage got it done way quicker then if he'd sat back & copped it quietly, nothing would have been done with these stadiums for years otherwise

well done PVL

an upgrade of their existing ground was all they should have got
common sense finally
Who do you support?
Obviously not Penrith as your tag suggests.
You really sound like someone who says I've got my stadium stuff everybody else, just give them a few scraps to make it look ok.
The Penrith region deserves a new modern stadium and associated community facility as much as any other region, probably more so.

They are saying that because it is true. A competent negotiator doesn’t get diddled. Naivety isn’t a strong point in any leader.

Also he is getting less than what he wanted here. He wanted the Penrith stadium to be built, not simply upgraded, thus he has been pushed towards the common sense position.

i support the Raiders
we have our own stadium issues ...

Penrith doesn't deserve a stadium .. for themselves ... more then anyone else does
so unless everyone on Sydneys fringes gets a brand new venue ... which they won;t
then they all get upgrades

fairs fair

The plan should be to get these suburban grounds to all seater standard with small increases to capacity. They’re not each getting their own Commbank.

Why does Penrith deserve a brand new stadium as a single tenant but Cronulla or Manly don’t? You either have to argue that all of them deserve a new stadium or that they all just get upgrades. You can’t pick and choose just because you happen to go for one of them.

You see how bias removes oneself from a logical viewpoint

its also true they reneged on a deal
firstly one in writing & 2ndly a verbal assurance

he was telling the truth & that has finally got him the best deal our code could have in the present environment
If we'd continued to cop it sweet like predecessors had & got nowhere ... then these next lot of upgrades wouldn't have happened any time soon

with what is on offer .. a lot less then the original plan .... but a lot more then nothing & .. the obvious floors in giving penrith a brand new stadium while several other clubs got nothing

he has negotiated the best possible outcome for the code in sydney

How many grounds though? Also, of course that was never going to happen (all nine sides having their own Commbank stadium)

So Canberra doesn't deserve a new stadium either? Fairs fair?
Penrith is more a region than a suburb like Manly or Cronulla. It encompasses Penrith City, Blue Mountains City, Hawkesbury Council, Blacktown City, and as far west as Lithgow and Bathurst.
The same way Canberra is a regional area and deservesa state of the art stadium.

Every nrl club should be playing in a state of the art stadiums, it’s not the 1970’s!
I’d rather penrth be the next to get one and eventually the others rather than chucking $100mill at sht holes like brookvale and shark park that won’t make them anything close to a modern stadium standard.

Sure but how likely is all that? The government isn’t going to spend the 4 -5 billion (give or take) it would need for every club in Sydney to have a Commbank type stadium, particularly in the short to medium term. Clubs in Sydney have to make some sort of concessions here, whether that be fully relocating to the better facilities at hand or at least their bigger games there.
