Um, Peter Beattie. Former premier of QLD.

That is no doubt correct, my apologies, but I’m Glad you said that. There are a few on here that have death rode Grant and the selection of Beattie. Beattie working part-time has done more in the past month than most of the other commissioners in there full tenure. Great selection in my opinion.

The mistake with Beattie is not appointing someone from the liberal side of politics too.

Having political connections is great but the NRL should recognise the reality of the political landscape.

as well as Beattie, Grant appointed a left wing activist, and there’s already a left wing activist on the board in Chris Sara.

So I wouldn’t be too full of praise over the appointment.

I agree that there should be political diversity, but who from the right wing would be a candidate?

John Fahey & John Howard come to mind, both love rugby league. Howard though is probably a touch old.

Barry O’farrell perhaps?

Maybe he did approach some of them? I still feel the commission doesn’t have the best balance though.

Yeah I agree. But there will be 1 spot open in February when grant leaves. As well as the club and state commissioners will be joining and they might add some political nous as well.

lol

you haven't come up with anything he's done so why are you jerking off over him?

If you can actually keep up with the conversation and read my previous posts it’s there in black and white. It’s your problem you can’t see it.

He is in charge of the comm games with qld events minister Katie Jones. It seems the only card the Nrl are playing at the moment is how much qld would like the gf. Seems helpful to me. Better than nothing

In fairness you stated that Beattie had done more part time than the other commissioners had done in their full tenure and when ask what he had done came up with things that have nothing to do with his role as a commissioner. So I actually think it is not El Diablo's problem that he can't see it.

he could come up with a cure for cancer and that would also be irrelevant to serving on the ARLC

Youre right it’s not just el problem it’s yours as well. If you and your mate could comprehend English I stated that,

His working relationship with Kate jones and the fact that any Nrl positive stadium articles in the media are around the fact qld and Vic want the gf, followed by her quotes. This Proves that his connections provide ammo for the Nrl to use nsw gov mismanagement to try and get Anz built first. It’s the only card there using at the moment.

Or do you think articles with jones quotes are just pure coincidence?

Try and keep up

That proves nothing, where did you post any Jones quotes? You are drawing a very long bow to suggest that an events minister pushing for the GF is because of a former premier being on the commission, are there quotes that state this is because of Beattie? If that is in fact the case which commissioner is responsible for the Victoria governments interest?

I didn’t think I had to post the quotes when you can look back through this thread and read the quotes yourself from the articles people have posted. I didn’t think it’s that a long bow to draw at all considering they would be seeing each and communicating multiple times a week over a number of things. Beattie due to his position on the commission obviously would be having conversations about the Nrl and the stadium situation with her. Having quotes from the qld events minister helps put obvious pressure on nsw gov to not let that happen?

So in your mind, the Qld events minister would need to be reminded by Beattie that they should seek to get the NRL GF. Wow she must be really good at her job! She would be making those quotes with or without Beattie.
