If we could be confident of seeing 30k plus at Allianz every week .. I would be all over it ..
Can't see how this actually happens tho

Yep same here, I would have preferred ANZ to get done before Allianz but thanks to Gladys it’s not happening, I just hope the rebuild is worth it and it is state of the art once finished
i'm not talking about Swannies games you idiotI can go..
I can go.. problem is we need 15 thousand more people to go..
What clubs are gonna drive this stadium
Easts cant pull crowd..
South's don't want to play there..
Dragons .. don't want to play there
Tigers fans will rarely travel in
Manly won't cross bridge
Dogs don't want to play there
Eels have new stadium
Big Kev no longer gets excitedLike Big Kev, I get excited.

I still hold the faint (vain?) hope that the demolition goes ahead, thus committing the state to a new stadium, but that a newly elected government will intervene to re-scope the design to a Parra like 30k-32k - obstensibly to dramatically cut the cost but also pretty much to the benefit of everyone concerned except the SCG Trust.I hope the new Allianz keeps the club mode that was originally talked about, will improve atmosphere at NRL games. 45k is way too big for any team in Sydney really.

Leigh.
Demolition contract wont even be signed until mid December as the planning approval for the demolition will not be given until mid to late November.Last I heard they’re hoping to knock it down in October.
So say 2-3 months for the knock down
They’d then be 2-3 months into the build by the time of the election.
@Suitman might be able to weigh in here on his easily you could pivot such a major project?
I presume one advantage is you could basically use the plans for the western Sydney stadium, but it seems a serious long shot.

Absolutely no chance of this happening.
Designs and tenders would be happening as we speak. Contracts will be signed as soon as possible and then a successful tenderer is chosen. There would be compensation payouts required if such contracts were broken. The Labor Party wouldn't do that. Instead, they would just blame the previous govt and get political mileage out of it, and proceed with the project anyway. They too, would also be keeping the powerbrokers at the Trust happy for fear of the political backlash.
but Victorians are dumb f**ksFWIW the Victorian labor govt cancelled a road contract and paid out $1 billion. It’s unlikely but if they campaigned heavily on it who knows?
