Believe it or not it's going to be played at the SCG.

They shit on the fans with rubbish sight lines just to keep it in Sydney.

Would Queenslanders even bother to show up if there were no Queensland teams in it? A lot of interest dies off here when there are no Queensland teams left.

We need at least 2 Brisbane teams. Queensland teams should be retaining the majority of their star players rather than them going to Melbourne.

Of course I’d prefer the tigs to be in a better financial position than to be playing out of say Leichhardt and Campbelltown averaging ~10k and at a financial deficit (such as manly). I was just stating about how ANZ is a poor venue for regular season games through a strictly objectionable viewpoint

Yep, very happy to see they’ve taken up the option of WSS. Hopefully the dogs follow suit.

The Campbelltown area should be given to the Panthers for junior development purposes. Especially with new road and rail planned to connect Penrith to Campbelltown.
What your area not big enough for you?
First you try to steal the Tigers coach and now you want their development areas. Though wouldn't surprise me from a scummy club.

If they give up Campbeltown then what did the Magpies even get out of the joint venture they are funding? nothing.

They got the name “wests”

But I don’t see what they get out of Campbelltown now? It’d make sense if they were making game day revenu from a leagues club.

I want Tigers to move to Campbelltown full-time. However if they don't want to give the area the respect it deserves let another team do it.

If the Tigers aren’t looking after it properly then of course it’d be better run by the panthers.

The Campbelltown-Camden area is one of the fastest growing areas in Australia. It is also Rugby League heartland. It deserves a lot of funding and support from an NRL club.

Could Campbelltown work as a training & admin base with most of the games at WSS?

Ideally they’d get wests Campbelltown to come back as a financial contributor.

What would the Panthers do any better? take half their games there?

My preference is for an Outer Western Sydney Stadium to be built in 10 years close to the Airport on the Northern Road that can be shared by the Tigers and Panthers.

Penrith have a proven record recently of quality development pathways. We can add Campbelltown to the list that includes Dubbo, Forbes, Orange, Lithgow, Bathurst etc.

Why would the Tigers share that stadium if as in your plan the Panthers have stolen Campbelltown?

How do you know the Tigers aren't doing this?

So you want the Panthers to move to Campbelltown full time?

The Magpies won just 1 game in SG Ball this year. This tells me something is wrong with the development of players out there.

I do not want the Panthers to move there. But if the Wests Tigers aren't going to put resources into nurturing the talent out there I would like another club to.

It is a vital area to the NRL. I am saying all these things as an NRL fan not a Panthers fan.

Labor commits to future of Victorian rugby league
Victoria's Rugby League State Centre has received a welcome boost following the announcement today of an additional $1.1m by Labor Leader, Bill Shorten.

If Labor wins the next federal election, the commitment will add to the $12 million already secured for the rugby league headquarters in Broadmeadows announced by the Victorian Government in April this year.

Melbourne Storm CEO, Dave Donaghy, welcomed the commitment by Mr Shorten saying the additional funding will give the new rugby league state centre the foundation to see continued growth in Victoria.

"Melbourne Storm is proud to be the face of rugby league in Victoria. The success of the team on field has helped open the door to people's lounge rooms and now we will have an even better chance to grow the game at the grassroots."

"The additional funding announced by Mr Shorten not only further strengthens our position to bid for a licence in the new NRL Women's Premiership but will also help to deliver critical community programs across the state that give boys and girls the chance to play the sport."

"We now have a record 25,000 members at the Storm and have seen enormous growth in participation rates in rugby league and touch football over the last ten years. We see the Rugby League State Centre as a critical part of continuing this growth, establishing a strong footprint and embed rugby league into the fabric of all Victorian households in the future."

Labor leader Bill Shorten expressed his party's delight in supporting the future of rugby league in Victoria.

"To support further growth in the sport, Labor will contribute $1.1 million towards the Victorian Rugby League State Community Centre in Broadmeadows, which will serve as the HQ for League in Victoria.

"Labor's investment will directly contribute to building up to three fields; change facilities for male and female players and officials; medical and massage rooms; gymnasium; administration space and meeting rooms; and a multi-purpose community space."

I doubt that will happen. Firstly the Balmain die hards will fight it. Even if that is overcome, why then would Wests Leagues at Ashfield continue being the club's financial benefactor? Its the same thing with thgoise saying relocate the Roosters, it won't happen as their financial backbone is in a different location (in the Roosters case, Easts Leagues Ckub at Bondi Junction). Every single person proposing relocations often overlook certain financial realities. It would be the same if you proposed relocating the Bulldogs or the Eels, their leagues clubs can't and then why would they continue funding the football clubs?

This is the point ,whilst joint ventures are good on paper, and work in most cases, there is a conflict of interest when one party is the dominant partner, such that exists with the W.T.

Leichhardt is almost like a cathedral for their fans.Ordinary ground facility wise, but the nostalgia, atmosphere, generally brings in their biggest crowds, which the club cannot ignore.

The St George Illawarra partnership appears to work with their stadium split, but you'll still get fans wanting the club to play more at such and such a ground ,within the partnership.
