there was an article last week about the stadium in the bully, stating that the cfmeu seems to have ramped up involvement in the day to day goings on in the build. They lost a fair few hours one day because a new type of fire extinguisher was either found or put at the site and apparently all the staff had to stop work and be trained on this new extinguisher.

They also lost a fair chunk of a day and a heap of concrete because there was a trip hazard identified just as they went to pour concrete and everything had to be stopped until it was sorted. Apparently a concrete truck/s, had to dump their loads because of it.

Who knows how true or accurate the reporting is, I’m not a builder or have ever been involved with a union so I have NFI how it all works.
Considering each day a team of 1 machine and 3 guys gets delayed is a $7500 bill on my site shit like the above can definitely rack up some numbers over time

Sounds like a Sopranos sub-plot.

Yes they have escalating involvement - good, bad or otherwise depending on your viewpoint.

I have a fair idea how it works as I've seen both sides of the fence. But basically like most things in the world - there's good and bad in every walk of life.

That top tier will be the best seats in Australian sport.

Agreed. Looks absolutely awesome from the top tier. Perfect size and fit out for a league stadium.

The only think I dont like is the patterns across the seats! Whats the go with recent stadiums preferring that look.. doesnt look appealing to me

To make it appear more populated when the stadium isn't full?

Sure beats the 'Four N Twenty' etched into the seats of the top tier at Marvel Stadium!

I'm looking at Marvel Stadium from my hotel window.. Ive actually been to a game there (NRL not you know what) and its a pretty impressive facility..

One of the most impressive things I recall was at the bar - the gun-set-up at the bar could pull 4 beers at once - get the punters in then out quicksmart... Other stadiums please take note - the one, slow frothy gun at the bar held by a volunteer is an absolute joke in modern society..

I’ve definitely seen those in Sydney. The SCG maybe?

Is is still the 1970s in Sydney? Us Victorians have these at our stadiums for decades. You don't queue, you just walk straight up and grab your beers and straight to checkout. In and out within two minutes. Pretty basic stuff.

Yeah - at Henson Park it is but its brilliant.. Cans on the hill - in and out like a pit-stop..

On the flipside - example... Win Stadium Western Grandstand - I was there with my darlin (her first NRL game) this year for Dragons Knights and i kid you not.. the bar had one bloke, yes one bloke, operating an old-school till. With every beer a different price... Waiting in the queue was like having your teeth pulled out through your backside.. Absolutely woeful.

Pretty sure SFS and ANZ have them.

The one person behind the counter pouring out of cans into plastic cups is reserved for suburban grounds.

The old Parra stadium was like this. Could be a 30 minute wait for a warm mid-strength, and then there was a limit of two per person, so if 3 blokes went to the footy, 2 had to go to the bar just to get 3 beers.
It was f**king disgraceful.

As somebody who never drinks at the game, I'm okay with that.:p
