Or they could just spend the money, and turn ANZ into a 70k, state of the art stadium. With club mode. It’ll play out like BW in club mode, until it’s needed for 40k+ Crowds. the dogs & Souths averages went up at the current form. I would think they would go much higger, in an actual rectangular stadium.

I suspect Bulldogs will stay at ANZ and hopefully the reconfiguration allows them to make the most out of it despite the size.

Given a decent option, clubs would probably prefer to not ground share, and Bulldogs have achieved good crowds at ANZ in the past. It also lies closer to their home territory than Parramatta does.

I could see them taking their smaller games to Bankwest, especially if the new ANZ doesn't include a club mode. They're already taking their panthers game there this year.

If I was a bulldogs fan I would be blowing up if they did. WSS will be hundred times better than ANZ, even reconfigured! 20k Dogs fans in WSS will be so much better a game day experience than in ANZ.

I'm a Doggies season tciket holder and even though it will take me extra time to get to Bankwest I want all our games there. I'm excited to go to a stadium where a atmosphere can be created after spending so long in the morgue at Homebush. Even after the renovations I'd like to stay there.

What could really facilitate this is next year. Dogs will have to play at bankwest whilst ANZ is being redone, it’ll be hard to leave once people experience it.

If ANZ Is done properly, it won’t. And anz would be closer for a lot more dogs fans

The big factor will be cost.

ANZ will cost more to hire than Bankwest, it's operating costs are higher. I know someone who deals with Venues Live and they're encouraging clubs to use BankWest more.

I also have serious doubts the club mode will happen, they're fighting for it at Allianz, I can see the govt reasoning that the smaller games could go to BankWest too.

Don’t venues live do ANZ as well? And both are owned by the nsw gov. So wouldn’t they want both being used?

Youd think it would cost venues live a lot more money to open up and host a game at ANZ than BankWest? Either the company wears that cost or has to charge more?

Is it that much closer? Seems the dogs catchment runs pretty close to the parra area?

Have you seen any examples of stadiums in the world that uses this intimate mode idea? Cant say if Ive seen it anywhere and I have my doubts it will help that much. Being in a massive cavernous building is the same regardless of if you cover the top up.

Mercedes Benz stadium in Atlanta is one which does.images (1).jpeg

The Atlanta United sign hides the top tier. From what I understand it's a fabric design not LED so much cheaper.

I cant say I’ve seen club mode, in action either. The concept videos, and idea seem great though.

Cracking stadium that. Could you imagine of they had spent $2bill and replaced ANZ with that, then Sydney would have something to brag about!

In intimate mode it still has a 42,500 capacity, the 15-20k NRL crowds are still going to rattle around ANZ if its anything like that.
