Can't find the clip now, but they definitely said it.I dont recall them specifying number of games at each venue?
theres a reason news ltd wanted them in rather than the firehawks! Can't find the clip now, but they definitely said it.
The press conference I thought the quote was in seems to have been edited down, and I can't find the full version anymore.
I wish I saved it, but it doesn't really matter though because for a team that's meant to be a big Brisbane team one game played at Dolphins stadium and/or Sunshine Coast is one too many.

Merivale Magic Set to Transform SCG and SFS
Merivale will bring its trademark food and beverage offering to the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) in time for the summer of cricket and be the first in-house hospitality partner at the new Sydney Football Stadium (SFS) when it opens in 2022.www.roosters.com.au
Let's merge Penrith and Parra and have them play at Mt Druitt. Happy with that?f**k all that... this is about building a new stadium, if they are pushing to build a purpose built stadium for the dogs of canterbury and the tigers of "Wests" Ashfield in Liverpool, then building a Northern Suburbs Stadium, next to a trainline for the only team north of the bridge surely is the better idea, than "lipstick on a pig brookvale"....
Hell the newly entering club "The Dolphins" is also a geographically beaches area, but they are playing upto 7 home games at Suncorp basically 40 mins inland... yet manly fans travelling 10 mins west to killara is not on...please
And yet many others do remember - they definitely said it (and it is written in their press releases).I dont recall them specifying number of games at each venue?
I
It’s a strange city for sure when it comes to its level of committment to its sports teams. Pretty unique really, if you look at any decent sized city and it’s main team/s drawing significantly higher crowds, swans aside who seem to buck the Sydney trend.
I still believe that the best option is a new stadium in Olympic Park. The tigers, rabbits and bulldogs have their highest average attendance when playing at stadium Australia, a 35k stadium would be perfect for these 3 teams as it's the most centrally located venue for all fans.
In an ideal world a 40k stadium shared by eels, wests, dogs and some souths at Homebush would have been the logical solution for the clubs in The region. Nrl chip in and take over ownership on a few years time, Sydney’s RL stadium.Honestly it is such a good option I can't believe it hasn't been brought up. The problem would be the closeness of Commbank Stadium. If I was the NRL, and I wanted to build a stadium this would be it. Mind you I still would want the Bunnies going back to the SFS, however in this scenario they could play a few games. Right where the Athletic park is located next door to Blues HQ and opposite the road from ANZ stadium.
-35K capacity.
- NRL club membership option to cover all games at stadium.
- 8 WT's, 10 Bulldogs, 4 Souths games, NRL Finals, Kangaroos (Whenever they play next), Pacific test, Women's SOO..... That is just from RL content, potential to host concerts who deem ANZ's capacity too big during off season.
Missing the point, in your scenario there are both parra and penrith still existing, the bears are not... lets say parra doesn't exist in top flight, and there wasn't a team servicing the city of parramatta, would you choose penrith to move there at bankwest, or another team... currently there is no presence in the north shore or northern suburbs period.. manly is the closest, yet its facilities are rundown, and doesn't attract many fans other than passionate locals, every club should be able to attract away fans especially ones that live in the same city of SydneyLet's merge Penrith and Parra and have them play at Mt Druitt. Happy with that?
why do you say that? Geographically it looks within pretty easy reach of the two tigers regions and the dogs region? 20-30km from centre of each area. If you’re not prepared to travel that to support your club you really don’t deserve one.
problem is you then have to find funding for two not one stadium! and will the balmain end of town travel to Campbelltown for games? Looking at the attendances there in recent years it wouldn’t appear so.Because there's a perfectly good stadium in Campbelltown that has serviced Western Suburbs & Wests Tigers for the best part of 30 years, is a 2 minute walk from a train station, plenty of bus stops, plenty of car-parking, 2 licensed clubs within 1 minute walk, and fast food restaurants about 5 minutes walk. It could absolutely do with a makeover and redevelopment (minus the Eastern stand) and I'd imagine the FFA would be on board big time for the Bulls.
I travel all over the country for my team so shove that comment where the sun don't shine - yeah, Liverpool is a 15-minute drive for me, but Campbelltown is 2 minutes. Liverpool can be the for the Dogs, absolutely, but Wests don't need to be there at all (I will concede, however, that I'd be all for it if it replaced Commbank as our third home venue).
You can't find it because they didn't say it. There was no number specified, just the three venues mentioned and that most would be at Suncorp. Can't find the clip now, but they definitely said it.

Ideally you would have a 60-70k stadium that you can set up with a more "intimate" 40k mode that is used 90% of the time and open the top level seats for big eventsHonestly it is such a good option I can't believe it hasn't been brought up. I saw it, 7 in suncorp, remainder split between MBS and SCSYou can't find it because they didn't say it. There was no number specified, just the three venues mentioned and that most would be at Suncorp.
They cant have games at a 10k stadium, it is too small for soccer let alone a comp that is supposed to be big. RL clubs are such losers.
If that is true, it is a massive joke of a decision and the franchise should never have been given a licence in the first place. All games by Brisbane teams should always be played at Suncorp unless they build another stadium that has a capacity of 30K+ somewhere else in Brisbane.
We are meant to be the premier sport in both NSW and QLD, but you wouldn't know it with the micro ambition shown by so many of our leaders.
