If federal labor is anything to go by NSW state labor will probably hold a royal commission into the whole stadium debacle.

Sharks last semi at Allianz drew 19k v Penrith. No way they get more v Cows or Storm

I have nothing against the Sharks. They are doing good things in the junior development space but doesn’t this show a lack of ambition or that they don’t have a lot of support.

Could you imagine fumbleball doing this in Melbourne - let’s play a final at a stadium that can fit only 12k?

Week 1 of the finals is usually only 10-15k per team. Given Cowboys and Storm won't have many fans. It is better to play it in a small ground then have it be 2/3rd empty

New stadium might draw some novelty interest, though. I get why Sharks want a home final and thoroughly deserve it too but the way they should look at it is that maybe 20k of their fans get to watch them in the finals in stead of 12k.

Sharks v Storm, neutrals will love that.

They lose they could be the 'home' team there v Roosters or Souths in week 2.

There has to be some reward for being top 4

Yes. Trying to get the land for free

Cr Bratusa said the proposal is all about ensuring what is in the best interest for Penrith, confirming his support for the stadium to be built on the Paceway site.

“The opportunity exists for us to now secure a state-of-the-art stadium on the Paceway site. It is not about Panthers. This is not about Penrith rugby league. This is all about delivering other major codes to our footprint,” he said.

“We have an opportunity to bring entertainment out here. To bring concerts out here. To help many charities by staging major events in a new facility.”

The Counsellor does a better job selling it then PVL did
Whose trying to get the land for free ?

the state govt are compulsorily acquiring it but they have to pay market value for it

the paceway want it rezoned for units so they can sell it for 50 million more than its current value

Exactly. Surely their fans can travel for one game? Anyway let’s hope they don’t finish 2nd. Their ground not really suitable for first grade, let alone a finals game

You sure about that ?
absolutely

the NRL can't complain about stadiums not being built , then have them built
then not use them for games they're in control of

for mine the only venues that should be used for finals in Sydney , are
the SFS
Accor
Commbank

& the NRL can decide where too
Parramatta can't use Commbank if the NRL determines the final will draw a crowd of over 30K
