It’s a double whammy for them because if the world’s second ever most expensive stadium got built at Victoria Park it would have put any Suncorp Stadium upgrades on the back burner for quite some time.

Checked the Brisbane reddit page it’s full of people frothing about how embarrassing it will be for Brisbane, coincidentally a lot of them have lions singlets on their avatar or whatever it’s called. Obviously the numbers have spoken for themselves, an upgraded Suncorp will look just fine as the “face” of the olympics.

I've been dining on those AFL tears in that subreddit all day.

If there is anything that Brisbane knows how to do well it is throwing a PARTY! 90% of the city adores Suncorp and Caxton St. The Olympics will be anything but an embarrassment. There is a reason why the Sydney Olympics are still regarded as the 'greatest ever' and it is because of the people. Brisbane 2032 will be just as good.

I don't think that we could get a full level 7 bowl for $500m, but maybe the level 7 corners could be done and a 3-4 tiered western stand. Would love to see 65-70k. So keen to see some designs.
