Yeh miss out on an extra 5k capacity because it can’t be relocated elsewhereCrap idea. Takes the fanzone of the main arena and makes it far less interactive.

I just gave a solution of how to add extra capacity. The embankment could have temporary stands built on it without moving the fanzone. In fact you could even build permanent stands there as it’s not used for anything else. The corners at the southern end are also unused currently.Yeh miss out on an extra 5k capacity because it can’t be relocated elsewhere

How did the all Blacks get 30k plus last yearI just gave a solution of how to add extra capacity. The embankment could have temporary stands built on it without moving the fanzone. Temp stand in the fanzone. ABs don’t care about that area it’s a Warriors thing. Not sure if they utilised the embankment and corners, though pretty sure they didn’t use the latter. How did the all Blacks get 30k plus last year

I remember they used to put up a few stands above where the fanzone is now. Would be good if they put these up again. Obviously the lower stand goes so that the fanzone remains.I just gave a solution of how to add extra capacity. The embankment could have temporary stands built on it without moving the fanzone. Yeah that’s the northern embankment I mentioned. Personally I think they should put permanent stands there though they’d need to relocate or raise the big screen to get full use of it (it’s now in the front centre of that area right behind the fanzone).I remember they used to put up a few stands above where the fanzone is now. Hate to have to be the realist in the room, but it's not particularly promising at all.sounds promising
preferences for location would be
1. Civic
2. Epic (on the light rail line)
3. Bruce
I think as long as it is modern and has better protection from the elements (say Commbank quality) it should see a 10% increase in attendance even if it is just at Bruce
By keeping the fanzone instead of putting seats in that area, the club is prioritising fan experience over revenue. Likewise by staying at Mt Smart, which the traditional fanbase considers home, instead of moving to Eden Park. Those stands at the back of the hill the view would be terrible
the other option they have of course is eden park
assuming a new stadium in Auckland is being built mt smart days could be numbered
those stands at the back of the hill would have a better view than half the ones at Eden Park. They’re really not that far from the pitch at all. Those stands at the back of the hill the view would be terrible

Other point re the fanzone is it gets well utilised whether there’s 12K people in the ground or 24K, It should be one of the last things you’d look at moving to make way for seats that might only get used at the biggest games.By keeping the fanzone instead of putting seats in that area, the club is prioritising fan experience over revenue. That's a good thing IMO.
Keep in mind its only the last 12mths or so where the demand warrants even thinking about other options. For the 10-12 years before that (since we last made a GF) Mt Smart capacity has been more than enough.
If/when a new stadium is built, or the club gets to Brisbane-like levels of interest season after season, then I'm sure they'll look at other options to maximise the opportunity. But for now, I think the decision to look after fans over making a bit more money is admirable.

Have you actually been to either ground?
And yet people on here want Sydney clubs to use big centralised stadium and not their traditional homes lolBy keeping the fanzone instead of putting seats in that area, the club is prioritising fan experience over revenue.
