it’s why most of the us stadiums are all or partly govt funded

Manly fans aren't the forgiving kind when they know there isn't much chance for consistent winning success. DCE at the moment gives your fans hope in every game. No DCE, no hope...Manly bye bye and the fans will follow.

Not much redeveloping. Cause it's so tight on land. And Central Coast council is broke
So unless some miracle happens
It will Stay the same

That’s a shame as the NRL could and should make more use of it.

The NRL should be looking at playing anything between 6-8 games a season at the central coast stadium.

There was talk a few years ago that they could build over the northern end where the bowling club is but really unless the ground has a regular tenant that could draw consistent crowds of above 20.000 there is no reason to expand. In theory they could build a grand stand out over the road at the southern end but would ruin one of the main selling points of the ground with the palm trees and the water views of Brisbane waters. In theory they could get the capacity up to 25, 000 or there about's if the northern and southern ends were utilised more and developed but if it doesn't have regular games there more often why would they bother. Also noticed that the north western corner of the ground would make some expansion impossible because of the rail line backing right onto the ground.

Yeah, it does look boxed in on all sides with the road at the scoreboard end and the bowling club at the opposite end. You’ve also got the rail lines literally ontop of one of the main grandstands and the road again impeding the opposite grandstand.

Yeah you reckon if they were to start from scratch now they could come up with a better design and utilise the space more efficiently but the cost now of redesigning the ground without a major crowd drawing tenant just wouldn't add up. A shame because in reality you could have the Bears and Central Coast Mariners as major tenants and it would be plausible that the ground would get upgrades.

Upper deck at the northern end that joins with two other stands would be phase 2. You could add a 3rd tier to western stand

Mariners wanted to add a hotel to improve profitability. Only makes sense in the area of the bowling club to the north

And we still have the Leagues Club expansion plans - 12 - 20 storey complex. That may oneday happen
