Surprisingly they dont get a mention in the ovals heritage listing. Surprising also that it hasnt been updated since 2011. Whilst the main stand is mentioned in the general listing of the ground it hasnt specifically got a listing by itself so shouldnt be an issue pulling down. I dont think anyone will complain about a butt ugly 50's brick stand getting knocked down!Pretty sure they are heritage listed as well aren't they. Can just call it NSO for a round and no need to travel to Sydney
With the piece meal upgrading it would be nice if the Gov just committed to a state of the art 25-30K stadium next to Optus. But that ship has sailed unfortunately
Yeh that would have been the ideal, hold off perth oval redevelopment in 2011 then done it when they decided on Optus. Shame but wont happen now.
A new west stand and roof on South would make HBF a more than suitable stadium for our first decade or two.
