the long term goal
new 70-80k Olympic stadium that can be scaled down to 50-55k
Suncorp upgraded to 70k
a new 20k boutique stadium in the city (maybe on vic park with the new oval or at Ballymore?)
20-25k stadium at Ipswich for the new NRL Jets team
Redcliffe to be upgraded to 20k with better facilities
Thats S Qlnd sorted for NRL and other sports for decades to come
Scaled down to 50-55k post Olympics is too generous. What oval sports events in Brisbane will attract 55k after the Olympics?
Suncorp should be upgraded to around 65k, and hold annual major events like Origin, Magic Round. Wallabies, Socceroos and Matildas would use the ground too. Ideally there would be a boutique 25k stadium for the Reds, Roar and NRLW. If that occurred, it would free up Suncorp for concerts during the summer months.
Concerts would be best suited at a rectangular ground like Suncorp because people will be closer to the artist or artists performing.
From a league perspective, a 65k Suncorp and a boutique 25k rectangular ground would be a great legacy from the games. A legacy where rectangular sports missed out after Sydney 2000.
As for oval sports, if a new stadium is built, have it at 60k for the games and then reduce it to 40k afterwards.
