Gagai - He is giving me a Gay Time.

I do wonder just how quick Gagai is. He did well last night though.

I love Kevin Locke, if there was a player in the game I could wish lot's of success for it's him. Hope he achieves it all.

Taupau had a ten metre headstart, great effort by the big man nonetheless. I don't think chases are a fair measure of how fast a player is, there are too many variables - because Ben Smith chased down Benji Marshall, does it make him faster?

Rothfield was probably one of the people talking up our recruitment and top four chances in the pre-season. Tosser of the highest order.

lolwhut? It's perfectly clear that Taupau comes from BEHIND Gagai.

Also, how can Kevin Locke be the "fastest turn and chase guy in the NRL" when he gets absolutely blitzed by Brad Tighe with Locke starting ahead.

People try to make excuses for Locke there but he is clearly in a position to get there and just gets gassed

Well you've proven yourself to be just an argumentive twat time and time again in the NRL forum who would argue the colour of the sky if your rags were itching you. In other words, f**k off back to the warriors forum. Locke has successfuly chased down more speedsters then anyone else in the NRL. Basic mathematics uses the law of averages, not one example you nimrod.

Well, that was quite an unexpected tirade

"Basic mathematics" uses things which have actually happened, not just stuff you've made up. With that in mind, apart from Locke chasing down Jennings (who didn't really have a head start and was always likely to be caught being the bloke with ball in hand) can you refer to some other examples?

There are quicker blokes around than Locke, actually there are at least 2 at our club and at least 1 at yours.

So many variables. The guy chasing always has advantage, no ball in hand, and more motivation. Last night's game, Gagai chased down a break from Shaun Johnson, he was a good 20m behind.

We see it all the time. Yow Yeh chased down Hayne in last year's origin. I didn't think Yow Yeh was that quick. Don't forget Hanye won the lighting bolt sprint.

Yeah, basically if you get 2 fast guys, the chaser wins. That's why Tighe burning Locke with ball in hand was so impressive.

That being said, Gagai didn't really run down Johnson, Johnson was stepping and trying to evade players the whole run rather than pinning his ears back.

With Marshall, I think that simply comes back to him not being a speedster anymore. He certainly has been for most of his career so I can only put it down to injuries.

Also, people underestimate how fast a quick prop like Tamou or Taupau is. Clearly not that much slower than some wingers/centres.

A lot of forwards have that explosive power over the first 20-30m, but fade soon after that. You see them catch quick backs in that distance, but far less often over anything longer.

True, but the same can also be said for little nippy guys e.g. Slater, Locke to an extent. It's usually the guys with the longer striding actions who are the true speedsters over 100m like Fisiiahi, Lawrence, Mead (not a big guy but doesn't have that "busy" running style like a Locke/Slater type).

Fatigue plays a big part too. Most players will struggle to maintain top speed if they are in the 70th minute of a match and have had plenty of D to do

Great convo guys, enjoying my time here. If anyone wants to debate the colour of the sky with an argumentative twat, just let me know.

Locke messed up the tackle because he was concerned about Gagai scoring and just tried to drag him down.

Had he have taken 2 more steps to ensure he was as close as he could get, he probably could have dragged a leg into touch before Dane got the ball down.

I aint gonna 2nd guess a guy who just sprinted 70 odd metres and attempted a tackle though.

You guys are some angry winners. I'm well aware of the result and simply engaging in a topical discussion unrelated to the result on a topic I find interesting.

It's a RL forum you skirt. You entered the thread with your typical arrogance and now you want to hold hands. Go join a dating site.

Angry? I haven't been this happy after a knights game in a long long time. I actually bought a bottle of Ballentine to celebrate! Long live this week!
