yeah it's got me fugged how Carney got 2 points when we beat them, and Gallen got 0

should have been lock of the year

and well they had to give Hayne some award otherwise thousands of fans would have stopped following the game, so poor Gardner for not getting "headline of the year" - which i'm pretty sure he wont miss any sleep over!

There's too much prejudice against Gal for him to ever win that award.people cry foul if he gets picked for City. Imagine if he stood on the stage with the medal around his neck.Too many of the merkins doing the 3, 2, 1 after each game would know he was a stand out but then give him nothing.Of course Gardner's try was the best of the year. If Slater or Inglis scored that they would call it the try of the century.

Not to mention Gards did it twice in the one year 73.
That whole awards system is a pharking joke.

You know it, I know, and the players know it.

That was f**ked..Carney still managed to get points thought, and One point was difference in the END!

Oh well thats all this for year, see you next year sh*theads!

Carney played well that game and deserved the points. It wasnt his fault the Roosters bombed numerous tries. However, Gallen deserved points from that game as well.

I think Carney was more deserving of the award than Farah. But much as Luke Lewis has been good, Gall has been better at Lock. Clearly Lewis's attack got him over the line. Before the nominees were announced, I was racking my brains to think who they were going to nominate apart from Gal. Simon Mannering FGS.

He only received so many points because most of the Sharks team is sub-standard, so he stands out in a bad bunch. I don't like how the Dally M's tends to reward marquee players in modest teams, rather than the most consistent teams who have lots of good performers. Lewis was good all year and it makes sense that as the 2nd placed team Penrith should get atleast 1 person in the team of the year.

ohh pahrken kumbayah you geniused flip. Let all hold hands & sing to the deserved snd place getters.
Using your moronic theory, all the awards should go to the number 1 team only.

Luke Lewis offers more than Gallen in attack. Its all very well to make enormous metres and work hard etc etc but you need to come up with points too. Something the Sharks seem to lack for a number of years.

I'd have Lewis in my team anyday over a 'workhorse' like Gallen, who stands out in a sub-standard side.

No its not my theory that all awards should go to the higher placed sides, but the Lewis deserves the award. In my opinion he's one of the most complete players in the comp, with his versatility, he adds an extra dimension to our attack and takes pressure off the halves. He's an exceptional defender.

The Dally M isn't a sympathy vote to give Sharks fans the strange feeling of 'success'. Hope you enjoyed Mad Monday :p

Lewis is too slow for fullback or wing, his natural position. He has no step for centre. He is too cumbersome & throws an ordinary pass for the halves. He is not tough enough for front row. There are plenty of better 2nd rowers around watmough, Teo, Gillette, creah etc.
& Gallen is the best lock. By far. lewis, the utility player, who is ok at plenty, but master of none.

LMFAO.

Luke Lewis won lock of the year because he's the best lock in the game. Paul Gallen gets through a mountain of work, but at the end of the day that work's not as effective at helping his team win games as the work Luke Lewis does.

What good is making 20 hitups a game when it's at the expense of his teammates getting involved? Or atleast being effective. He quiet often cripples the attack IMO. He's not breaking the line, scoring tries, putting his teammates through games or setting them up to score tries etc.

Luke Lewis on the other hand shines in the areas that win games. He's breaking the line, putting teammates through gaps, setting up tries etc. and his efforts have been a big part of the Panthers being in second place.

Quality > Quantity.

I think Paul Gallen would be better suited to the front row - he's pretty much already doing the work of a front rower anyway. Best of all the areas he dominates would easily have him winning prop of the year. So long as there are guys like Lewis in teams who are playing well he'll struggle to get it at lock/second row IMO. Even though he's busting his ass each and every week.

If carting the ball forward for over 4km isn't helping your team then I don't know what is.
Gallen scored 1 less try than Lewis.
Lewis won the medal cos everyone in the media was spurting sauce about him during origin - Geez even Gasnier was toey i heard.
