With the players clearly backing the coach, it's starting to look like that Galvin wasn't that well liked by many of the players? Will be interesting what his playing best mates think about it all.
Even last year, he was sniping about things, that a kid shouldn't be sniping about.
Probably has an ego the size of a mountain.

Wonder when he was sitting in the sheds on Sunday night after a big win if he knew he would be the most hated player in RL within 48 hours?

It's a pretty impressive feat. For all the wrong reasons
Yes, there appears to be relatively few people supporting him, he might end up in England?

There's a blog doing the rounds, where P Kent (I have never trusted him) is saying that Galvin has a deal already set up with Parra, but it's obviously illegal for that to happen, so it's all hush, hush, but somehow an ex journalist has got hold of it? Make of that what you will.
Though, it does sound right.

What I can't get my head around is why do we need player managers.
If your a gun player, your not going to have trouble finding clubs wanting your services. It would be the other way round.
Why give a huge chunk of your income to a person who is not productive and as we saw the other day, sometimes doesn't have the players welffare in mind.
His parents could have acted on his behalf. One does have to be registered to be an manager/agent but that can't be hard to obtain. (I think the prerequisite is being able to make a mark for a signature, like an X.
I see manager agents having a purpose when the player is average and needs to have someone who knows where there is a need for his services and knows all the CEOs ect.
Managers like Moses are becoming too powerful and are dictating to clubs what, who, how and when things can be done.

It's simply, in dealings if you are not sure get a lawyer to look over your contact, dare I say they would be a lot cheaper than player managers.

That's a good point. The contract itself would be more complicated now than ever before so a solicitor who knows his way around contracts would be important.
I think the RLPA should have people who can offer advice for a reasonable fee. A bit like an advocate.
You go and make some phone calls to clubs and when your ready to get it done you go to the RLPA.
All this could be a module taught at the RLPA when the players do their apprenticeship like I've been harping on about.
Durring the 4 year apprenticeship the player would attend a class once a week that teaches things like contracts, welfare, physical anatomy, injuries, rehab, financial planning, media and a miriad of other topics to better equip the player to navigate around and within the RL circles and life after footy.

Players leave clubs all the time and I am fine with that.
I am not fine with the disrespect ( and stupidity) Galvin has shown to Benji in particular and to Luai.
I would actually love it if this weekend was the last time he played for the Tigers before being dropped to a feeder club preferably somewhere like Tamworth so he could be forgotten about for the next year and a half.

Yesterday I wrote that he was immature and I guess a large percentage of 19 year olds are. From his own statement and I will just take it that it is his own words, he might be actually very mature with something elite sports people must have, confidence to do well.

The quote:

"I totally understand my decision will frustrate many Wests Tigers fans, but please know that it wasn't an easy call to make," Galvin said in his statement on Tuesday - pretty mature

"The biggest reason why I made this call now is so that the Wests Tigers have enough time to plan their roster without me in the future. That's the absolute truth of it. pretty mature BUT gee there's a big ego there.

"I could've mulled over this decision all season, but I didn't think that was the right thing to do. po he hasn't let the decision get to him and his efforts have been commendable IMO.

"I thought it would be best for everyone to make the call now rather than drag it out." pretty mature - now he can just f^(k off - thanks for coming.

I think the RLPA should be less like a union and more about welfare and advocacy. Free legal advice, read my other post on this.
Players need to know what's right and what's wrong so the RLPA should be like role models that council players, a bit like a minder too. A lot of what I've said here and in ither similar posts can be done at a group level/classroom.

Edited to read less like a union and more about welfare and advocacy.
They should do everything possible to prevent a player from ruining his or her reputation through guidance and advice.

For the Eels I wouldnt take anything less than Lomax or no deal.
For Dogs I am ok with Preston.

Remember Richo, they dont have the cards, THEY HAVE NO CARDS!
No doubt Lomax would be clearly the most preferable but our backs are fine & we definitely need another decent forward or 2.
It’s so good that we have a ruthless CEO with a huge rugby league IQ who certainly holds the bargaining chip & will maximise it to our advantage.
