I have lost an online friendship with an Eel fan over Galvin. He was a bloke who kept drinking the kool-aide over how good Galvin is. He agreed with Gould's best under 20 player he'd ever seen line and actually thought he was going well at the Tigers.
With each weekly dog failure he has had, I kept reminding him of his stupidity. We no longer talk....lol.
For Gould to say he is better than other under 20s players he has coached himself is plain old bullshit. Fittler ran rings around Galvin as a first grader.
Scott Gale Phil Blake Ben Elias Brandy A Tim Brasher just to name a few & there’s many more who in their teens who leave Goulds delusion Galvin in the shade

Though, what did you expect the CEO to say at the time?
He shouldn’t have made such an outlandish comment not becoming of someone with Richo’s impressive CV.The other hugely embarrassing comment was the congratulatory msg to the lemon Brooks a yr ago when he was to play finals footy for the enemy. This was actually a lot worse than the best spine prediction

Maybe he'll get there. It's not a sure thing. The comments about him being the best teenager footy player ever when he was making a lot of mistakes on the field were ridiculous. The buy in from the WT staff was insane as well.

Gus was grooming lachie from Day 1, he knew exactly what he was doing by these comments. If you listen to Gus's podcast he was saying this stuff about galvin every single week. Since hes gone to the Dogs he hasn't said it once.

It’s amazing everyone was on the Galvin bandwagon..and using it to belittle the club.. maybe that was half the motivation …90% of the so called experts were raving about him..it deserves a name as an nrl phenomenon or a recognised “Galvin effect” (social experiment) where everyone agrees without checking …otherwise known as peer pressure.. ..We could have a statue of Galvin for the $5mil he saved us ..at least a Galvin day once a year ….or a Galvin Scholarship…Gordy said he would end up another Jackson Hastings. They’re all literally turning on Galvin now apart from a tiny minority I think with links to the bulldogs

Isnt it ironic that now Galvin is getting all this critisism for all his "on field" stuff.
No bullying claims, no Richo having to face the media every day, Tigers are in the media for their performances and not what is happening off the field and the media are all over the Dogs now for their slide with Galvin in the team.

Yet Isaac Moses is sitting pretty thinking mission accomplished for the next 3 years after putting the Tigers through hell and probably has left Galvin high and dry but happy to collect his 10% for the next 3 years

Exactly, same thing happening to TDS over at the slimes, they just weren't ready for FT, FG.
At least here, we knew.
Though I think it's turned out better for us now and our future.

It’s still early on in the piece but I think Galvin was the architect of his own demise..he obviously believed all the hype as well. And now he’s getting his Just desserts… Being at the bulldogs his mental health won’t be a priority. it wasn’t that flash before all this anyway

Coaching abilities aside Galvin went from winning everything in the juniors to a seamless transition into first grade with total freedom.. support and encouragement from Benji Marshall... the only thing he wasn't handed was instant winning in first grade which he obviously didnt feel like waiting around for let alone contributing to achieving ( which Andrew Johns advised him to do) Jumping ship to get that winning feeling he also jumped into probably the first real heavyweight pressure that's ever been put on him. I'd bet he never really anticipated that ( team as much as external pressure) and now he can either live up to the hype his disruption came with or not...he cant really exceed it as his potential has already been publicly declared and maxed out by his boss..."best young talent ever who will earn more money than anybody ever" over and over and over will be a hard KPI to maintain...moreso if Ciraldo isn't all that mesmerised

Absolutely...he would have easily convinced a then obviously "worldly green" 19 year old and his parents that he'll only develop at a stronger club. I also cant help recalling how Cronk and Fittler would similarly do their best to keep us starved of any talent that looked our way to keep the usual top 4 well-fed...now those two arseholes are so kindly talking about how we finally seem to be getting somewhere F CK OFF!.

I reckon Galvin played pretty good in a well beaten team yesterday. I also think when I saw him playing for them apart from that game he played better than he was with us.

Galvin and his manager made him look like a twat which perversely made him a target for so many articles and BS. I reckon he isn't too smart and neither is his manager.

He was such a f**king Karen.

Made notes and whinged when Benji didn’t throw him into the wrestling sandpit with Royce and Sam.

That said, the boys gave it to him at training.

And we probably over-reacted.

But footy is an emotional game.

Soap opera with some sport thrown in to distract us.
