Oh please!
McGregor, for whom I have no particular affection, has out-performed most other coaches since taking over (Green and Toovey have done better).
All players have improved under McGregor IMO and they know it.
To blame McGregor for injuries prior to Jeremy Hickmans regime with Bennett is lame and frankly shows a lack of knowledge of who was involved in what roles during the period and the impact that they had on individual injuries etc. It isn?t Salem in the 1690?s mate.
If any of us were seconded to a role; we would do our best to achieve and expect a little qualified support until we were proven to be less than adequate. We?d expect consideration of the facts and to be judged on our merits.
McGregor is improving the performance of the team and has the courage to make changes in order to realise his vision.
Over the next month and a bit, we have the opportunity to judge for ourselves. I?ll be disappointed if we don?t, barring unforeseen injuries, etc. win the remaining five games ?til the semis.
As Sting wrote ?To search for perfection is all very well but to look for heaven is to live here in hell?. Nothing this year has prior to McGregor?s stint has entitled us to unrealistic expectations. Give the bloke a chance and if he fails, consider him gone.
And it's this type of apologetics that condemns the club to mediocrity.
