Do you like Val as a player?

Holmes is a very good player. Sharkies can be grateful that he played for them. Played a role in the Premiership. I doubt that he ever gives less than his best on the field.

There are many players who a brilliant in spurts but at other times put it into neutral and coast along(Hayne...). Holmes doesn't put it into neutral.

Not talking about Holmes here: Flanagan might be the best Man Manager I've seen with regard to picking up another club's cast-offs and giving that player the self-belief and the support to play the best footy of their career.
