Yeah I wasn't impressed with robinson accusing us of laying down. He was happy to forget about the forward pass, the Moa hit on Mcrone and the fact they bombed two deadset tries. Happy to blame others....

I agree that Roosters were hit with a couple of soft penalties; hey we copped plenty ourselves.

The forward pass leading up to Roosters 1st was probably the worst forward in a decade. Even the normally anti dragons commentators called it stone cold. I didn't need any replay to spot the knock on kick for 2nd try. Dugan got stripped and then miracle catch but called for roosters. I thought that Moa would be sent off for that shot on McCrone early. Very lucky roosters. Then copy book head high on McCrone again near the end of game allowed to play on.

What is disappointing is Trent Robinson now attacking the Ref, calling his behaviour unacceptable, we was robbed type comments. Veiled suggestions that Dragons lay down, he said same last year when they tried bashing Euan Aiken out of the game. Good on you Trent you were gifted an amazing roster ( probably TPA galore) and won a comp with SBW etc. Now still have a very good side, but hey blame everything else for your loss.

We won't win the comp but we won today and let's bring on next week.

Well said 100% correct
Poor old trent

Yeah, they have, but there's definitely a reason for it.

Someone at our club needs to sit up and watch - THIS is how you do a re-building year! Put your best youngsters in there, combined with a proven coach and a series of experienced veterans like Friend, Moa, SKD, Pearce/JWH when they return, and let them lose. Them them learn. Let them grow.

Really, Roosters are setting themselves up to be a force again, likely as soon as next season (if not the following). Mitchell, Hastings, Nikorima, Burgess, Elliot and now Matterson, Vunakece and Watson, all incredibly young and being let lose to gain experience that will be invaluable in future years.

Yep, that's how you do it. We should have done it 3 years ago....

As for this game, I thought they really tried to throw the ball around in the first half, and it worked ok. We look clunky in attack even when we pop the ball out for an offload. They actually remind me of those Bulldogs teams from the early 2000's; Good forward pack, with slow backs unable to score long range tries. Their forwards would hit the line, spin, and offload. Maybe that's the way we need to play.

Also wasn't it nice to see FFL sprint 80 meters to score? Haven't seen that for a while!

I also have a confession to make, I was actually hoping that Rein would come back on in that last 15 minutes. We really missed his defence. Havilli does have some mistakes in him when he plays long minutes.

Seriously everyone should listen to the Roosters presser. I don't think I have ever heard a more disgusting whingefest from two complete grubs. 5 minutes of Robinson singling out the Ref and Friend accusing the Red V of lying down to attract penalties. It's disgusting and both should be fined 10k.

What were their views on the forward pass?

It was not mentioned, nor was the knock on which led to Mitchell's try. On this latter point, neither Robinson or Friend praised the referees for making a decision on field and NOT seeking a review from the bunker. (One of the 9 commentators picked up the knock on but the matter was not reviewed endlessly by them either - unlike their collective defence of Napa and his high shot on Milne.

So you are saying you weren't lying down?? Was disgraceful especially on Anzac Day. Dragons shouldnt be allowed to play on this day anymore

We won, but man we should not have let it get to the last second...
Atmosphere was fantastic, and NRL /RSL/ Dragons and Roosters deserve recognition in making this Anzac Game, head and shoulders above any regular season game....as a true event.

Seriously extremely poor form plus from Robinson. I understand disappointment but he got lots of favourable calls tonight. This thread has detailed them.

He has again for another year accused dragons of feigning injury. Was Guerra foxing when hit by Thompson and stayed down ; its Anzac Day isn't it?

The Roosters have a good roster. I watch them today and speculate they are being told to fly close to the wind by aiming high and hoping the timing is exact. They seem like a pack of head hunters.

The very late hit by Moa was a shocker on McCrone. Yet McCrone got up. Had he stayed down Moa would have been marched IMO. I heard the ref discussions with Easts captain Friend. Par for the course like every other team every week. What is the ref suppose to do? Stop the game for 3 minutes review the call and consult over a cup of tea.
That Press conference was outrageous and a slur on the ref and dragons players IMO. Is Peter Doust simply going to accept that and not defend Dragons players?

I actually agree with Robinson on one thing....it really was a piss poor reffing display.
But i don't think it won or lost anyone the game.

Lol at Roosters whinging
They played like Mitchell Pearce acts when he's had a few too many.
Napa's incident reminded me of the reportable tackle by Widdop in the final minutes of last week's game. It was nothing but a penalty. The head clash did the damage which is why Milne stayed down.
We put the cue in the rack too early but deserved the win.
