Game day V Roosters

How many of our kicks went dead in goal and gave the Roosters 7 tackles from the 20 meter line? I counted at least 6 !

The need for a composed and 1st grade standard half-back was on full display today. Josh McCrone is dreadful and we need to spend every cent available on a decent half-back.

I have been Gareth Widdop's biggest critic of late. He had a terrific 1st half....BUT where was he in the 2nd half?

Finally; when we lead by 18 can we go on with it so I can sit back, enjoy a couple of lazy bourbons and watch us run riot? Seriously, I want to watch a game where we put the other team to the sword !

I thought I counted two sets of 7 for the Roosters, without a zero tackle, early in the first half. I'll have to watch it again.

Good first half and then shut up shop. At this level you don't try and defend a lead for a whole half. You build on the lead and make the other team suffer. But us... No real attack, no building of pressure forcing an error... It was like we had two different teams or at least two different game plans.

jeez another heart stopper....honestly I said to my son in law at halftime you watch if things don't go to plan early in the second half we will struggle to hang on......I thought in the first half we had really turned up to play today but then in the second half we seem to lose all our structure again...I think someone mentioned we have 74 against and 6 for in our 2nd half this season...still a wins a win...still a lot of work to do if we are to compete with the top of the table fellas...after all The Roosters are 16th and have lost a lot of their top liners....

One of the fox commentators said we are 67 - 7 in the second half of games this year.
Didn't they say 57-something in the last 20 minutes?

Either way, we clearly have some issues with playing the full 80 mins. Easts are such a crap opposition, an absolute rabble, and we almost lost to that?

But, we won... :thumn

I will repeat again. McGregor actually coached the team to just hold the ball and defend in the second half. Those were his words. He will coach us to the spoon if given long enough.

Mate doesn't sound good for us then they are without Sheck, Maloney, Jennings, Hargreaves, Pearce, Tupou and this was Cordners first run for ages...and we were at full strength except for Marshall
Aitken too. I honestly thought Ferguson and Kenny-Dowall would run rings through the centres, but Easts were so crap in the first half that they couldn't exploit this.

Credit due to Lafai, and to Matthews who was clearly doing his best out of position.

I will take the 2 points and move on.

We dominated the 1st half, and had some tough calls go against us in the 2nd. ( the gridiron pass ), that led to a try for starters.

Bottom line is Chooks 1-7.
Go Saints.

Well done lads. We got within 2 but I don't think we deserved to get that close. We suck at the moment and you guys sucked less in this one. Both sides in for long years based on that game.
