Good analysis. Go back further with Chad and he is now into double figures of games without a TA. He also has no line break assists for the season. He is like a pivot in under 10s. Just there to pass to someone else. Chad gets a lot of heat from the forum and whilst he is not on his own as an under performer as the half he needs to show something other than good hair and usually solid defence.SJ is equalling the lead for Try Assists so far this season with 6.
Chad is yet to register one this season.
Dragons destroyed the left hand side defence - Wade 11 missed tackles, Townsend 3 missed tackles, Dugan 8 missed tackles, and Hiroti 4 missed tackles. That was 26 of the Sharks' 44 missed tackles (59%). Compare this to the right side - Nikora 0 missed tackles (made 40 tackles), SJ 1 missed tackle (made 22), Ramien 4 missed tackles, and Katoa 2 missed tackles.
Our back three do not get the team rolling. Will Kennedy for all of his runs had a total post-contact metres of 25. They start the sets slow, and then the team never recovers.
Whenever Brailey runs out from a quick play the ball, he looks and sees no one with him.
The team is lazy, dumb, and just not good enough.
The lack of support play is reflective of a lack of urgency and desire. Brailey should be thriving in the quicker game but is not. Sharks have the fewest DH runs in the comp.
Using the TA measure, Johnson is creating but he is throwing up a lot of rocks to go with a few diamonds. On the other hand Chad throws up nothing.
Good point about the back 3 and getting sets off to a good start. Kennedy doesn't threaten at this level. He doesn't have the power to make a dent. Katoa is elusive and having a crack but is heart attack material. Hiroti was targeted as a newby and he didn't look strong in contact. Ronnie out for 6 weeks is a blow. Need Nene fit quick.
