Would be cool if Jon just rocked up to Winterfell with his wildling army, then Ramsay being his cocky self comes out to meet them like he did Stannis. Then the Knights of the Vale come out and slaughter them. Followed by Wun Wun eating Ramsay.

Can't remember which book, but I believe Robb Stark and someone (possibly Greatjon Umber) had some dialogue about the requirement for reinforcements and how disappointed they were that the Knights of the Vale wouldn't be joining them, due to their strength.

Disclaimer: That also could have been a reference to their strength in numbers.
