So, this seems to be the season of returns - Hot Pie, Nymeria, Gendry......Will we see Edmure Tully back in some form or another?

Did the Blackfish REALLY die, or did he somehow manage an escape? (I think this one is dead0

Friend zone is killed, and becomes a member of he army of the dead.

I'm the finale, he duals with Jon against his father's own sword.... and disarms him. the knight king is now winning the war, having slayed all other challengers and now standing over Dany.

That's when zombie Friendzone shoves Longclaw right through him, ending the war and handing the 7 kingdoms to his queen.

Dany still doesn't f**k him

I don't think all of those guys will come back.

Clegane bowl is surely to happen, right....I mean why bring both Hound and Mountain back from their respective ends if they aren't meant to duke it out.

Jon is too valuable to the story to die, well at this stage anyway.

Any of the other three could go and I wouldn't be surprised. I'd prefer it to be Friendzone, but thats my own opinion
I don't think the Hound's value to the whole story is totally defined by Cleganebowl. It's still okay to have him around even if Cleganebowl doesn't happen, because he's just a top character.

He's my favourite character.

Genuinely f**king hilarious and the classic story of a conflicted man.

He's no hero but he's no villain - and doesn't that apply to all of us in some way?

That's what GoT does so well. In the 7 Kingdoms you have characters committing great deeds and evil acts, which is exactly what would occur and what we'd do too in their situation.

I read an interview with the actor and he sounds like the Hound irl, minus the violence, but still with the general apathy for people.

Anyone else feel like they're really starting to rush the storyline now?

They went from a war to an armistice in one episode!

Yes.

Only 8 episodes left for the series and the fact they're beyond the books now is probably the reason

Maybe it feels rushed because they spent ages building everything up.

Honestly think it just feels rushed because there's not as much happening, and most of the focus characters have all been grouped up in one place of another. Jaime and Cersei in King's Landing, Jon, Daenerys and Tyrion at Dragonstone, Sansa, Arya and Bran in Winterfell. There's isn't as much else going on in the world to break up the main focus as we ramp up to the big two encounters that'll end the series.

And they have clearly run out of decent material.

We are now into story-telling, rather than showing.

So much is explained via dialogue, rather than example.

This is rushing.

One of the geniuss i mean creatives for the show thought it would be a more interesting twist if blackfish died off screen like a little bitch instead of escaping like a cool dude

I am sorry for what they did to you blackfish....first the seaworld people and now game of thrones.

https://winteriscoming.net/2016/06/...on-why-the-waif-and-blackfish-died-offscreen/
He’s a man who carries a lot of shame for not being in the right place at the right time at the Red Wedding. He’s carried that shame and here was a chance for at least a bit of personal redemption to give himself that moment of dignity. I didn’t want to see the moment of the sword going into him or whatever it may be. I didn’t want to see that, I didn’t gain anything from it. I wanted him to have that warrior’s death and I was happy to leave that offscreen. So it was really just a question of choice. I expect that one could make an equally compelling argument either way. That was the writer’s choice and I fully agreed with it.

I complain every week but i liked last episode.

I see Parras point though. Like fatboy discovering that Jons parents were married and now he has to waddle on back to the north. This says to me that Bran the creepy freak only knows that Jon isn't Neds kid and not the rest of the story.

So I can see next week that Bran is like "I saw aunt lyannas vagina and you were coming out of it jon. she looked very pretty. you are still a bastard though"

And Sam will kick in the door and say "NOT SO FAST BRAN. HE IS ACTUALLY THE f**kING HEIR TO THE THRONE"

Now, we shouldn't compare the show to the b**k because its a different beast entirely now but I always speculated that GRUM might not even pay off the fact that Jon is the trueborn son of R+L. The books have always been about subverting the tropes of fantasy and there is no bigger trope in fantasy than the secret king

Still there is enough crazy shit going on to keep people watching. f**king Dany just torched like 50 percent of sams entire family. That is nuts.

I think Bran knows all of Jons story, but a cripple with visions isn't enough to convince others
Sam has the proof that Rhaegar was married to Lyanna at least, and might find more proof of Jons background later as well

Anyone heard the Bran theory about becoming the Night King.

Bran will try to go back to when the Night king was created to stop it from happening but gets stuck too long. Then the children of the forest drive the dragon glass into his chest. Then when Jon Snow has to kill the Night king it will now be Bran?

Also a theory on dany becoming night queen lol that seems far fetched a bit.

But according to GRIM the story is ment to have a bittersweet ending.

Wow!

That would be mind blowing. Bran goes back in time looking for an answer and is then captured by the children of the forest who make him the Night King.

It would explain the connection he seems to have with Bran and also Jon.

I would be happy with that ending. That is definitely bitter sweet.

The original 3 eyed raven told bran not go too long into these visions or you may never come out. Also I'm wondering if the night king has the same power as bran. In the books bran is one of the main characters the first chapter is through his eyes he isn't considered as much in the show he skipped a whole season.

Given we have a brother-sister thing going on, (and i can't believe i'm about to say it) - it means this scenario isn't too bad, albeit they don't have the knowledge of their relationship.

I also think some things feel rushed, but it's due to a time thing I think. It seasons gone by, if two characters were going from A to B, we'd usually catch up with them at some point, even if it didn't hold much significance (possibly due to the larger amount of storylines going on at the time, it was necessary to have a quick catch up with everyone so characters didn't feel lost) - Now it's a race against time to fit everything in.

Personally, I'm still really enjoying the season despite some flaws

What annoyed me a little bit from the last episode was the scene where Jon planned to go beyond the wall

In the that scene he found out Arya and Bran were still alive AND Bran has visions AND he saw he Night King near Eastwatch
Based on this information, they planned to smuggle Tyrion in Kings Landing, talk to Jamie so he can convince Cersei the white walkers are real, negotiatiate a ceasefire, And then go beyond the wall with the mission to capture one of the undead as evidence

That was rushed
