I know we are down Widdop and Duges, but we aren't out of this. Our forwards can match there's, no prob's there, but their backs look to have it over us on paper at least.

I think Graham will be given a mission to try and unsettle our halves and if successful, we simply won't have a kicking game and they will probably dominate field position through Townsend and Maloney. If Mary has a plan to nullify Graham, if he has addressed the defensive problems that keeps catching Aitken out and if we attack Bird (defensive deficiencies) and Holmes (his positional play as a fullback has a long way to go) then we are in with a fighting chance.

We're not going to win the game through goal kicking so we need to keep them try-less in the first 20 minutes after half time (that's the period we have leaked tries this year) and we need to score enough tries to cover off Maloney's goal kicking. Time for the likes of Mann, Milne, Lafai and McDonald to have some fun and take a few chances.....no expectations and nothing to lose really.....good guys by 6.

Unfortunately tomorrow will show what an average coach McGregor is, even with the loss of Widdop and Duges a decent coach would come up with a game plan to beat the cokeynullas, I feels very annoyed and irritable at the moment, this is due to knowing that we will lose the next two games, not happy Jan!

Take the top 2 players out of any team in the comp and they will struggle. Don't care who the coach is!

Great News for the Sharkies .................. Unveiling of new sponsor !!!!!

Damian Keogh & Ben Barba have come back to welcome the Cronulla Sharks newest sponsor, OMO.
Australias' whitest powder.

Damian says, " Whether your at home or a nightclub in the early hours of the morning, there's nothing quite like a quick cheap snort of Australia's' favourite powder."
"Heh, it even dragged bouncing Benny back from France for f--k sake!"

Just my thoughts but I would like to see Milne in the centres and Aitken out on the wing......I think Milne and Macdonald would give Bird a tough time of it.....and stop any wide sorties into the backline by Holmes......just hope Aitken doesnt lose his sense of timing and awareness and rush up and in if he plays in the centres because Maloney will have a field day with his cross field kicks and cut out passes

Milne up to wing challenge: McGregor

STEPPING UP: Taane Milne will get his first NRL start of the season against Cronulla on Friday night as he covers for the injured Josh Dugan. Picture: Sylvia Liber

HE’S played just sparing minutes in his four NRL appearances this season but Dragons youngster Taane Milne will get the chance to remind coach Paul McGregor of his value when he makes his first start against Cronulla at UOW Jubilee Oval on Friday night.

Milne produced a strong finish to his debut season in 2016, bringing some spark to a floundering attack over the final seven rounds after a strong of standout performances for the Illawarra Cutters in the Intrust Super Premiership.

The Dragons have not had those attacking issues so far this season with the form of Tim Lafai and Euan Aitken enough to lock down both centre positions after nine rounds.

With Josh Dugan to miss the Sharks clash with a fractured cheekbone, Jason Nightingale will shift to fullback with Milne coming onto the wing to partner Lafai on the left edge.

It’s an unfamiliar position for the former schoolboy rugby star, but McGregor is confident Milne can handle the role on the flank.

“I thought Taane deserved the opportunity. He’s the next man up, he’s been in our 17 consistently,” McGregor said.

“He’s a centre but he wanted the challenge to play on the wing and he’s the best fit for it. The other choice could’ve been Kalifa [Faifai Loa] but he hasn’t played footy for three weeks and he’s coming back from a knee injury and hasn’t done a lot of groundwork out on the field.”

Certainly he’s a player of talent and he’s done a good job coming on through that interchange [role] in the opening rounds.”

I'm disappointed that we didn't get the 2 points but there was still some positives in our play. Our forwards again were exceptional, including all 3 on the bench. At least we've been competitive each week and can look forward to the return of our 2 best players in Dugan and Widdop. If Widdop was out there tonight doing the organizing and kicking we're a much better chance of winning and it must be said the refs have done us no favours 3 weeks running. McCrone had a shocker too.
Our forwards are all class but unfortunately our backs either aren't of the same standard or aren't getting the best direction from the coaching team, they just aren't clicking in attack or defence, more the right side than the left but all could be doing a lot better. You'd think Mary could do better given his skill's as a top shelf centre in his playing days. McDonald is getting better every week so there's that and I won't miss Aitken if he's sidelined for a bit. Not sure what the answer is - maybe get Coops in to talk defence to a couple of the boys.
