Gameday: Warriors v Raiders

So the HIA/18th man rule is exactly the same? The option basically just exists for if you randomly want to replace an outside back or a half?
Yes, 6 players allows for injury to outside back to be covered by outside back in your 6, rather than a forward. Only 4 of 6 can be activated (if no HIA) Basically introduced as Storm lost a centre early in grandfinal and replaced by a forward on the bench.
Was an advantage to us as you wouldn't carry Tuaupiki on bench for cover in old 4 man styles.

I'm not all over the tactics if it means you wait till last 20mins to make you 4th and final call, based on no injuries (not HIAs).

Last year you needed 2 HIAs to activate the 18th man. Now you dont need any.. In lthe case of CHT last night, because it was the first HIA, in 2025 we would have had to have used one of Healey, Vaumaga, TSS, or Gannon.

6 options on bench only 4 can be used, HIA still allows for extra man (old 18th)to be added/replaced HIA'd player.
So you're allowed an extra man outside the six options for HIA? I'm confused as to why NRL.com lists four interchange then two bench (although that could just be an old format thing)

I have to admit I don't follow the HIA rule. I found it curious, Demetric was starting to warm up then JFH was called out by the ref for an HIA check. Who calls that? Does the doctor, and therefore gives our bench the heads-up that JFH is coming off? Is it our trainer? Can that be manipulated? Does it count as an interchange rotation?

Anyone know who was scrapping it out at the end of the game? Saw it as we were leaving. Love the rivalry we have with the raiders

HIA rule - if 2 players ruled out due to HIA then an extra player from the bench can be used ie 5 of 6 instead of 4 of 6

If 1 player ruled out due to HIA as a result if foul play (foul on report) then an extra player from the bench can be used

Great birthday gift.
Hope it topped off a great day.
Cheers. It was a nice quiet birthday made brilliant and memorable by my beloved footy team. I owe them one (actually, I don't really, look at the last 30+ years) but, anyway, I'll have a nine-hour journey to Newcastle next weekend to support them.

Started before that. Vaimauga and another of our guys were having words with Smithies and their no. 14. Push and shove ensued, a circle formed, Leka came over and looked like he was trying to pull someone away, then Big Ginga ran in from the side and grabbed Leka's rattail and then tried to throw hands.

Be keen to know what was said to start things. Smithies looked pretty upset

So. I'm in NZ and haven't been able to watch the last two matches. Cleary I need to not watch as the team appears to play out of their skin when I don't watch. Next week we'll find out when I watch again.

My absence has even given Ford the confidence to not play like his usual dunce self.

No thanks needed. ;)

So gutted, watched the first half then had to dash out at half time... only to keep an eye on the result.
Wish we could have flipped the halves over lol I'll have to catch a replay
