Paulo was playing as the middle back rower. He was getting the ball way too much running sideways thinking he was benji Marshall. He needs to play tough like last week , Especially seeing he is playing in the middle.Get the ball run straight and put a bit of footwork on at the line, which is what he dud kast week. By running sideways he kills our go forward and our back line plays in one go. He either plays 5/8 on the left or plays as a central back rower, not sum hybrid of the two .

Don't think Paulo was at fault - he is a back rower not a 5/8 with Hayne having a quiet game , he was really trying his heart got to get something going. Just keep him at back rower .

Despite wearing the number 6, Paulo was definitely playing backrow.

There were some positives given our squad and missing Kelly who obviously trained at 5/8th all off season.

The only time Hayne ever really got the ball was when he already had 2 or 3 players on him.

If Keating/Paulo/Roberts gave it to Jarryd with a bit of time he would've been forced to get involved.

Hayne was actually looking for the ball and seemed to be standing in line waiting for, it's not like he was scared to do anything, it's just no one would give it to him. Keating would go short side or one off the ruck to a forward, while Paulo would run sideways and dump it to someone flat footed. That's how i saw it anyway.

It's not like he did much with the little ball he did have mind you.

Except he wasn't playing 5/8. He was wearing 6 but Roberts was 5/8

He was getting the ball plenty, he was definitely the go to player in the back end of the game and was getting better as the game went on imo. Roberts was diabolical!

On the dogs

They had a lot of ball and we turned over some stupid penalties resulting in their early tries

David Klemmer - what's the big deal about this kid? He's big but he doesn't seem to really do much in terms of damage. Loko trampled him a few times.

Tony Williams - gee I'm happy we didn't fork out 600k like the dogs did for this bloke

Josh Reynolds - sticky get him here! He's one dog player I like has so much passion and mongrel in him. Would love to have him in the side. f**k Norman off throw the 450k at josh

Agree 1000%

Reynolds would be the perfect foil for Sandow.

and T Rex looks like his old lazy self again...

Well that's says something doesn't it - why wasnt Roberts getting the ball and trying to spark something , Paulo seemed to be getting the ball as if he was leading the side around the park when it was Roberts responsibility.

We've all said it before. Roberts needs to come of the bench. Injuries forced our hand tonight.

They were both terrible IMO. Paulo was going sideways when he should have been running forward. Roberts, well I'm not sure even he knows what he is doing. If roberts is playing 5/8 then both he and Paulo shouldnt be on the field together. I'm not a Corey Norman fan but at least he plays direct.

Just finishing watching the game in QLD on delay ffs!!!

I thought the effort was outstanding, our young backs stuck it to the more experienced boys. I thought our forwards were again outstanding i know the Dogs had a few out but the boys won the battle.

Hayne was terrible tonight if he played half decent we win he looked sick or something just never got in the game. Paulo overplayed his hand big time and stifled our attack and Keating took the wrong option about 1000 times. Besides defence him and Ben Smith offer us zero. Sandow was outstanding and Lussick was not far behind him he will prove to be an outstanding pick up for us. Loko was an absolute beast man i love this kid!!

Happy with the effort but frustrated as hell that was a game we should have one hopefully it's a learning experience for our young side.

Wow just...wow!

I must admit I have the benefit of being in QLD.. So not messaging mid game.
Having said that I have to suffer thru watching the game with a Bulldogs following wife, putting shit on her all game about her team of grubs, their whinging & the benefit of a lopsided penalty count in the 1st half only to go down by 4 points.

But what a bunch of pissant fans we have.
To all those bagging Hayne did u miss the tackle where he so obviously got a leg injury as well as being collected as high ?? I spent the rest if the game hoping to **** that the injury wasn't serious as it obviously impeded him from then on in. ( But hey I could be wrong & mayve he is just Parra's J Dugan)
We were competitive & up until the last few minutes there was always a chance we could snatch a victory . We couldn't have said that too many times last year.

I am pissed off we lost considering I think it was a game we could have won, but to lump tonight's performance in with previous lacklustre efforts is just plain wrong.

Some of you guys are in for a long year if you expected us to be performing better than we have in the last 2 weeks coming off one of the worst years I have seen from us highlighted by winning the spoon.

This is a different team compared to last year. I was disappointed that we lost, but even this game was probably more impressive than any game we played last year. I was really surprised by our defense in the second half. Yeah, we could/should have won the game, but compared to last year we have come a hell of a long way.

People seemed to more positive about our performances early last year that had no redeeming qualities whatsoever. We are at least showing signs this year. We would've lost that game by 30 last year. I'm not the sort of person that thinks losing any game is okay, but we are on the right track.

Disappointing with the result for obvious reasons but we got close. Attack just needs a lot of improvement - it still seems like it is the one play over and over (Sandow running through the line)

At least we have improved but we really need to get the dumb penalties out of our game
