A 4.5 year deal for a 29 year old centre who's been playing union for the last couple of seasons?

f**k me.

4.5 years? Does that mean he can play immediately?

With all that money, he should go out and put a deposit on a boat.

Well we've lost Costigan and Beau Henry to Newcastle and Jarrod Saffy to the Rebels thus far. I wouldn't be surprised if we release Jeremy Smith at the end of the year. We have a fair few more fringe type players off contract at the end of the year aswell such as Ricky Thorby, Michael Greenfield and Michael Lett to name a few. I'm sure we'll be fine with regards to the cap. The only downside in signing Gasnier will be our depth for next year won't be as strong as it has been since Bennett took over.

As much as its good to0 see the toey human back in League, I gotta say the old shimmy shimmy shake routine he does was old hat before the left for yawnion.
Teams knew it was all he had, I don't think he's going to have as much impact at the dragoons as they expect.

with the lack of defense from most teams this year, who will be able to stop it

Gasniers defensive reads were quite poor at times that left his winger hanging, I dont see it having improved with his time in Union.

I spose its good he is back in the NRL.

That was under Brown you only have to look at the improvement in the rest of the squad to see what he could achieve under Bennet

Dragons attack will flourish .. i mean right now most sides stack the right side defence knowing that Scott on the right will not hurt your defence. Thats about to change. Potency on both sides of the park will boost the dragons attack.

There will be more tries scored down the dragons right now but the dragons will score more points too.

I'm going to put my sceptical hat on and say this won't make the impact the Dragons or their fans think it will.

also what people seems to forget, gasnier and soward were playing in 2008 and the dragons were 3rd in defense , people raved on how sharks defense were one of the best yet the dragons had better defense .

I dont think he will be a big defensive liability as some may think

He's expected to turn out for their Monday Night game.

He'll do a good job for the Dragons on the right, but he won't have the massive gamebreaking effect some will expect. I'll be happy to eat those words though.

Gasnier was obviously on to something regarding the intellectual property/tazos situation. It was one of the changes recommended in that conference last week. Gaz should charge them a finders fee for thinking of it
