Blamethe weak St George Admin who negotiated a contract that was so much in the players favour. I can't believe the way RL clubs allow players to walk away from long term contracts as soon as someone else dangles a few extra $'s in front of the player.

I know he's been offered a crap load of money, but imo you'd need to be offered a heap to go and stand on the end of a Rugby Backline in France. You see some of the highlight's from games over there and the rain is falling horizontally more often than not due to the wind and that is if it isn't snowing. Northern hemisphere Rugby is the most boring, grinding unimaginative game in the world and the only way a centre generally does anything is if he is a decent goal kicker. Yes he will be rich, but he'll also be fat, bored and cold. I reckon he'll be gone for 2 years tops and then his competitive side will get the better of him again. Then it'll be another big circus ala Barrett as every side in the comp will throw money at him to secure his signature.

Great news.

We actually need this type of thing to happen so as something will be done about the stupid salary-cap rules.

It will be a loss but this is what the 3rd time Gaz has been ready to quit the NRL? Each time you hear these stories so I guess until it happens officially I guess this is just another of the million 'i heard' threads that dont mean anything.

why bust your gut week in week out when you can go to france, get 700,000 tax free austraian dollars, touch the ball 2 or 3 times a game and then go on holiday around france and europe.

we need a much higher salary cap to keep our stars and that goes back to TV rights.

ill be spewing if this is true as hes one of my fav, players

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't alot of it have to do with 3rd party payments not being paid. Something that would be out of St George's control.

In any case, Gasnier is a great attacking player, but for his pay packet, he makes a hell of alot of poor decisions in defence. To be honest, from what I have seen this year in particular for the dragons, they'd be better off without him. He lets in more trys than he creates.

Brilliant player to watch, but his decision making in defence is bordering upon hilarious. Capable of making any winger look terrible.

If the dragons unloaded Gasnier, they'd have a hell of alot of cash to spend money on areas where they need it. In particular hooker and 2nd rowers with ball playing ability.

You can hardly blame him for taking it (if he does).

If any of you were in his situation you'd do the same. To say otherwise is lying.

I want him to stay.

But if he wants to go, so be it. Rather a player that wants to wear the Red V.

Free up a lot of $$$ as well.

Sick of the whole scenario, great attack, suspect defence, and not that good he can hold us to ransom. If ya gunna go, just say so and f**k off and stop playing with our heads.
If Frank Facer was alive he'd put one straight on your oversized "Vera Lynn", then turn around and do the same to Doust, the merkin.

Anyway we can get Doust to follow him?

I'll go over there and spruik him for free if it helps...
