It is a good article. Good read. Dylan isn’t ever going to be in the Tedesco or Tommy T class but I’ve always thought he is a very good player and often undervalued on here.

His injuries haven’t done him any favours over recent seasons, but when fit and injury free rarely let’s down.

Indeed he is a good player bit until he can get a reasonable amount of game time he just won't have earned the respect of fans. Get him a good two seasons and he'd be fine. Also a passing game.

Playmaking probably isn’t his strong suit. As the article alluded too his stats overall our fine he’s just not the playmaking fullback some seem to crave and I can understand why. If we want a playmaker fullback then perhaps the youngster in Daine Laurie is the future. First things first let’s get thru tonight and hopefully win with Dylan instrumental in our victory. He is a very decent player.

These numbers he quotes for RCG- $900k a year/6 years and $250k a year to play elsewhere. Where do they get these figures? I don't believe them. Never ever was he a $900k player, not even close.

Edit: Sorry it must have been a different article. My bad.
Whichever article that was those numbers are crazy

For what it’s worth I was told we are supplementing his wages in this current year only. After this year the Eels paying whatever it is they are paying him. I would think think probably similar to the deal he was on here, perhaps in the $600-$700K a year. Not sure he his worth that much, but too his credit he had a decent start to his Eels career and offered much more than he did with us in his past couple of seasons.

Excellent read.

Although a try scoring machine Wesser wasn't a playmaking fullback either. A look back to the 03 stats he is only credited with 3 try assists. His strengths lay elsewhere.
One thing he learnt as he got older was the ability to chime in the attack. His soft hands as the ball quickly shifted in the line contributed to many tries over the years. Edwards could play a similar role. Adding a deft grubber to his game might prove to be beneficial later down the track.
It is possible we can get away without a ballplaying fullback if creativity is made up elsewhere.

Good point about Wesser's development, but to be fair to Dylan, Wesser was super quick. Quicker than any player we have had since. He made many tries by using his pace to make space and burn past defenders. Dylan can't do that. He's no slouch, but Wesser would just burn him for pace.

I loved watching wesser play, he was a superhero, Edwards could learn all the skills you want him to, but as he is right now he is safe as ivan wants it.
Naden has speed, if we want an attacking fullback Naden is the go, but defensively not safe, or not as safe as edwards

I admire the Warriors for wanting better. They could easily have given him a free pass this year as their season has been massively disrupted. They have however made some poor choices for the head coaching role since making the GF in 2011. Really need to make their next choice wisely.

Would Hook enjoy the cool air of NZ?
