I've just broken my rule to answer more inane comments about Cleary LOL.
Oh I'm not slamming nathan for any one kick, more that the pressure qld gave him, coupled with qld having all the time in the world mass it really bloody difficult for him. The first 15 of the second half, qld had us pinned down. Great line speed from them.Cleary was targeted heavily last night. He got little protection from his forwards. The kick your referring to, on his own 20 meter line, pressured by an opposition player.......
That is hardly Cleary's fault that Qld got time to get kicks away. Or was Cleary the only person in the NSW team.......His tackle count (cleary's ) better than many of the forwards.
I'll agree he wasn't at his best, but after a big season that can happen. He bloke is human not a robot.....(like some of you are demanding he be.)
franklin won't. I have challenged him many times on this, and he ignores me.Just admit you don't like the bloke.
I hope I don't see you lining up for autographs along the fenceline at the ground. While very willing to sit behind a keyboard and make unsubstustable claims, whom his peers say is the best in the gake during 2020.
Just admit you don't like the bloke.

And you don't? Wow, big words, and totally uncalled for. By the way, I am an adult, so grow up. Also, clearly, you have the sheep mentality.I think he is ordinary player but I have seen no reason to not like him. The reason I ignore you is all you do is dribble shit... I prefer to talk to the grown ups. The ones like Mx, Betcats etc, we don't always agree but they actually give reasons why they think what they do
Just admit you don't like the bloke.

Looks like you're trying to make it personal to bypass any discussion.
I have said numerous times he is good solid player. I don't think he is elite as his pay would suggest nor is he the best in the state.
I don't think should be the origin half nor should he be the go to player in clutch situations.
Nothing anywhere in that says I don't like someone I haven't met
I'm more halfway between the two sides but at least you've made a case with well reasoned arguments.
Yet, you called me, a total stranger, a child. You had no reason to state what you did, without a reasonable argument.Which is what a forum is about come at me with a well reason argument as to why I am wrong.. Instead of just 'you hate the player'

Probably should let these silly arguments go, that goes for all involved.Yet, you called me, a total stranger, a child. You had no reason to state what you did, without a reasonable argument.
Wayne Bennett understands SOO better than just about anybody. He knows it is won by the team who try the hardest, play tough and do the 1 percenters. It isn't won by a team playing razzle dazzle with, ahem, three five eighths on the field at the same time, two fullbacks and not a single specialist centre to be seen. We had so many cooks the broth was spoiled and there were not enough people to do the hard yards up the middle.
The balance of the team was wrong and he also picked out of form players like Frizzell, who was awful for St George this year. Fittler did an Ivan and lost the game in the selection room.
We need fewer flash harry's and more hard nuts who will belt the ball up the middle and drive Qld back in defence. We needed another big prop on the bench like RCG and Crichton should have started and Frizell should be on holiday getting ready for next season. Yeo would have been perfect coming off the bench for this game. Yeo walks and chews gum at the same time. He will give you metres and defence. Frizell delivered 56m and 44 tackles. 3 NSW forwards delivered 56m, 59m and 61m. Nobody, including Andrew Johns can deliver a good halves performance when your pack is being belted and every time you get the ball Qld are breathing down your neck.
The person tweeting about Cleary might have noted that Walker and Keary also had zero try assists and line break assists. Gutherson was the only player in NSW to get try assist and line break credits. He was the player on the end of the backline movement started by Cleary going to the line and engaging defenders.
That said, Cleary did have a quiet night and his tactical kicking, well, it wasn't, it was just kicking. He tried to get the ball away before he got monstered by the Qld forwards. None of the NSW halves had good games because they weren't given room.
But it doesn't does it? I just told you and please check the stats yourself, that Walker and Keary had the same stats. If no halves and there were three of them, can't get an assist it points more to the fact that NSW were unable to create space for their halves than it's because Cleary chokes. If the other halves had assists your argument would be valid, but they don't, so it isn't.That tweet though tells the story. You can go a few seasons back on NRL.com and see plenty of 0 next to Cleary

It may well turn out that Cleary does choke in the big games, only time will tell. But looking at stats when he was a rookie SOO player and at stats in a game when all NSW halves were rubbish, doesn't support the conclusion he is a choker. Let's see what happens in the next few games. He is still only young and may develop to be better player, which is what many ex-players have said. Halves are in their mid 20's before they peak.
The cupboard is pretty bare. Even with his weaknesses he is still a decent option if he plays his strengths well. Apart from last night he has done what was expected of him in Origin. I'm tipping him to be much better next start.I agree no where near his peak even but if he can't do the job. Shouldn't be there until he is ready

If Nathan had kicked his two missed conversions, the game would have been tied. If that bomb for Ado-Carr bounced differently, he would have scored, and the blues would have won.
