State of Origin: NSW Blues blow as Stephen Crichton injured at training

In a late blow to the Blues, Penrith centre Stephen Crichton has gone down with a hamstring at NSW training injury and been ruled out of contention for State of Origin II.

Crichton was on standby for any NSW outside back ahead of Wednesday night’s do-or-die game at ANZ Stadium.

The Panthers grand final centre twinged his hamstring late in a training session at Morry Breen Oval, Wyong, on Monday and has been ruled out as precaution.

The Daily Telegraph has been told St George Illawarra centre Zac Lomax will be NSW’s new backline standby player.

It is understood Dragons teammate Cam McInnes will be the Blues’ second player on standby for a late injury.

Aside from Crichton’s injury, NSW trained strongly ahead of the big game against Queensland.

lol. look at earlier in this thread, @franklin2323 commented his opinion on Cleary in State Of Origin with his reasoning to back it up. It got derailed by claims of personal dislike of Cleary. Commenting on that then drags out the drama and takes the topic off the game and players. I don't have anyone on ignore because everyone has valid contributions at times.
I do have one person on ignore - not because that person has views different to me, but because the person will say black is white one day and black isn't white the next, Just can't take that person seriously. Lot's of post that I don't agree with, but I won't block anyone for that reason. As Westylife says, everyone can make a valid contribution and just because I might not agree with them, doesn't mean they are wrong - it might be me! Only the most arrogant one or two on here that don't realise that they're not always right. So perhaps the site hasn't gone to sh!t after all...

If NSW don't win tonight or Cleary doesn't contribute to a large degree he'll become the new Pearce. Hated at origin. Needs a big game tonight.

Hopefully his team mates do there job, particularly in the forwards, which will help him do his job better.

The much maligned Pearce was unfortunate to play SOO in an era of virtual total Queensland dominance and I don’t think he deserved the hate that came his way.

I have confidence in him, just can’t do it all on his own, he is just not that type of player.

Nathan has never lost a series. Long way from Piss

Nathan turns 23 in a couple of days, had a great break out season for us and hopefully his best footy is still ahead of him.

I think whoever the Blues pick as there number 7 there are going to be compared with past immortals such as Andrew Johns and Co and that is a tough gig to live up to.

I don’t see Nathan as ever being thought of as an immortal, I’m not sure he is ever quite going to reach that level, but I’m confident he will continue to improve at club and rep level and will enjoy a great career.

Yes the forward rotation was bad in game 1 and Murray got injured.

I know it’s not popular opinion but Mitchell Pearce at his best was a really top quality half back. Couldn’t get the job done at SOO but seriously not his fault just up against far superior opposition for the most of his 19 or so origin games.

Indeed but opinion is shifting to "Maloney carried him and he's worse than pearce".

Hard to say this QLD side is ordinary. Freddy has got away with odd selections because of the opposition. I reckon a few of those NSW sides back then beat this new lot
