I'm 50/50 between Franklin and the other side. He's absolutely hitting on something the rest of the comp is saying though, it's only Panthers fans pretending like Cleary doesn't have an issue at Origin level. Also Franklin is one of the best people here so insulting him is weird. Never once has he said anything about Cleary on a personal level only discussing the game.

I am one who is critical of him. This will be the last thing I say, he called me a child, and that is uncalled for.

So it's on Ivan and Tamou then?

In regards to the GF yes. comes with the job. Cleary was given the team as dominant half this year so that's the part he needs to own, in origin maybe having Keary there makes things more difficult being a 3 time premiership winner at a dominant club so some slack should be given there though he has naturally submissive half Walker next game so we'll see how that goes. NSW should've just gone with a club combo and picked Luai if they really wanted Cleary as the 7. Luai seems to have a natural instinct for stepping in when Cleary needs it in a way other halves can't. this comment is more appropriate in the general discussion thread so will go there

FTR I have never said Cleary can't play. Some (the NRL players included) have him as the best player in the game. The best in the game tag is all my criticism comes from. The best in game needs to control games better

Indeed. If he was playing like earlier in the tear with repeat sets, early kicking to force the opposition on the back foot, a varied attacking kicking game and running the ball more this conversation likely isn't happening. He put that stuff away or at least limited it. I can't think of exactly what point of the year it changed.

I won't argue he was the form player of the 1st say 15 rounds. Something happened after the 2nd Parra game but great players step up when needed and that is where is lacking so far.

I had a feeling he damaged his right foot somehow which effected his kicking in later games.

I wonder if that is also what affected his goal kicking? His goal kicking was also way down this season compared to prior years. He seemed to rarely nail a sideline conversion.

The good thing in Cleary favour is his age.His learning will continue at least for a few more years. He needs someone to come in and help him with his running game
But he can learn and improve and will

That would explain the goal kicking. Rarely missed yet now has a curve and is down to 70%

Good comments by Joey on Cleary. I will find a link when I get a chance article is on Fox Sports App

Usual suspects - I'm so close to putting them on ignore.

Switching between playing the victim, bullying other posters & then justifying it as "opinion".

Then the ensuing pettiness which carries on for pages.
It's actually quite frustrating. This place used to be pretty good for debate. Sure, there were some arguments that got a little out of hand, but for the most part all opinions were delivered with respect and thought.

These days, there are a couple of posters (who I have on ignore) who derail threads with silly insults, petty squabbles and an apparent inability to concede that they may not ALWAYS be right.

As I said, I have these posters on ignore, but unfortunately that doesn't stop you from seeing the replies to them.

Why does someone have to be right or wrong ? Why does someone have to concede this?

Silly me I thought this was a place where opinions are shared, given, debated and at times argued.

Many times there is no right and wrong, just different opinions.

Gosh, this place isn't that bad, even at it's worst it is still better than PI was.

So we have a bit of a break out of animus between posters. It happens and is hardly surprising since many of us are still processing the emotions of this season.
