The backbone of this great team came up during Hooks time. Yeo, Cleary, Kikau, Fish, Edwards all either debuted or spent the formative period of their careers under him. He may not have been the guy to take us to the next level, but the idea that he's a rubbish coach because he can't turn the Kogarah circus around doesn't add up.

In a weird way we are winning games/comps in the exact same style we were winning games under Hook. Grinding away and coming over the top of teams. Obviously, at a much higher level though. The great man was before his time.

True. I think some people here think a different coach that the premierships would of came sooner.

That is ignoring the roster changes and front office changes since Ivan returned.

My issue under Gus was always changing the roster particularly the halves

Hook has his shortcomings but that place stank long before he got there. Player power has been running the club since Steve Price took over from Bennett.

The roster is full of lazy, selfish big headed players. If paychecks were being handed out at their end of season presentation. Attendance would have been 100% of the top 30.

The front office is inept. They are more interested in protecting their own backsides rather than the best interests of their club. They are about as efficient as a broken clock.

It will all end in tears soon for Hook. Picking Elliott and Gentle as assistants was a mistake. A bigger mistake was letting McInnes go and signing has beens in McCullough and Woods.
