Genuine Local Juniors ?

While sitting watching Monday Night Football I saw the Gold Coast Titans team list on the screen. I know that Luke O'Dwyer played all his junior football with the Tweed Heads Seagulls club but am unsure if any of the other members of the team are 'genuine' local juniors. I think Jordan Atkins might be as well but aren't sure. Which of the NRL teams would be able to claim to have the most local juniors, obviously it won't be Melbourne but am guessing it would be either the Warriors or the Panthers.

well the Warriors do have a whole country to claim from.

Penrith, Parra and Newcastle would fair pretty well in the genuine local junior category.

These days it's a bit hard to know with a lot of guys - a heap of Newcastle juniors like Danny Buderus, Cory Paterson, James McManus, Scotty Dureau etc are from out of the Newcastle area.
Scotty Dureau comes from just outside the Knights area, but his cousins are genuine Newcastle locals and both play for Saint George.
Brett Finch comes from a family that has lived in the Newcastle area for 150 years, was raised in Newcastle, played junior footy with many Knights players and was a Knights ball boy, but he never played for the Knights because his family moved to Canberra a year before he was able to play.

For the gold Coast, its hard becuase we went though a period where the comp here was Group 18, so in that case i spose we have

Lafranci, ODwyer, Atkins, Rogers, all i can think of.

If we could buy back the farm, we could add, Benji, Hannett, j.Smith, Steve Micheals, Boyd, to name a few.

Isn't he a WA lad? Played in the WARL till he was 15.

WA Reds have 75% of their squad from WA which is pretty good going.
That's my point - he is technically a Newcastle junior because he played in Knights junior sides - but the team i put together were all born, raised and presumably still have family in Newcastle.

That's a great side.
If we could go back to the old Newcastle v Wollongong games some blood would be spilt. I reckon the rivalry was always better than NSW v Qld.

Brissy's been quite good traditionally but it may be different due to the exodus in the last couple of years..

GC has an excuse due to the short period of time they've been in the comp
