It’s unlikely the will with the number of players out this year and having to pull players out of retirement just to fill positions, Tonga will be tough to get past with the team we’ve been forced to name
Ten years ago the kiwis weren’t losing so many players to Tonga or Samoa either

Difference is we weren’t loosing players in their prime, used to be they’d go play for the island nations if they couldn’t make the NZ or Aus sides. Suppose it’s more a reflection on the world being more diverse than it once was but even 10 years ago the distinction between heritage and nationality wasn’t so grey

Why are you posting tweets with no relevance to anything to do with this thread? Isn't there a genuine anti rugby thread somewhere on the forum where you can post this rather than stink up a NZ thread with non NZ content?
Sorry that Union doing Union things upsets you.

He stinks up every thread he enters, but good to see his little cheer squad got so upset by your comment.

That happens in the modern game. Tonga were solid last night relatively and lost by 18.

Queensland are a world class side obviously and got blown off the park by NSW in game 2 this year.

The Kiwis are 2-3 in their last 5 games against the Roos. The rivalry is more competitive than the Bledisloe now and probably rates better, we just need the crowds as the final piece of the puzzle.

A 3 match Australia V NZ series every year could be huge in time. Problem is where that leaves all the other nations with such a limited window post-season.

The NZ v England rivalry was shaping up quite nicely with a few close games going either way, always thought that could run parallel to an origin series in a rep window quite nicely with maybe a Samoa v Tonga series

The 3 test trans-Tasman test series from the 80’s&90’s was an awesome concept that was building nicely both on and off the field until it was canned in the late 90’s.

Bit of a stretch lol it was Auckland FCs inaugural game ofcourse they’re gonna get a good turnout, although they did play well keep that up and they may keep them. Phoenix for comparison had 7,500 even with the hype of the gf last season
A successful a league side this time around will help mt smart get upgraded

Or hopefully that new stadium built in place of Eden park
