I doubt Burgess will be playing at all with us again unless he is found to not be guilty of the charges laid against him. Sponsors won’t allow it. In all honesty if he ends up being found guilty I’d rather not have someone like that playing for the club ever again, let’s just hope justice is served.

Do you know for sure that sponsors have objected and don't care about innocence until proven guilty ? I'm sure the club would explain the circumstances ( no proof other than one word against another ) . There is also the broader issue of sponsors sticking their noses into the running of the club particularly when the club has followed the NRL guidelines.

I think we decided that both were better than Patten.

Hornby and Patten were at similar stages of their career playing similar roles in the roster. No point keeping both.
We dropped him after he let in tries by not killing the ball in our ingoal for the second or third time. From memory that was pretty much the end of him

I recall a game against the Roosters where just before half time Patten fielded a kick on the goal line and instead of running forward, headed across towards the goal posts. He was caught and forced into the in-goal.
From the drop out with seconds left to play the Roosters scored a try they should not have.
I was glad to see him go.

Say it enough on here then most will believe these things are true. No evidence that he has a grudge just the same as Alexander has it in for us.
I doubt very much that he has a grudge. I lay the blame at the leet of the coaching staff who should be insisting on and practicing every day.

I just don't get the Ford selection. If Burgess is fit then why not put him in the starting lineup. Go with the big ones first and with JDB at lock which is his specialised position to cover defend. We need players who can defend for the majority of the first half where we have problems and allowing teams to score against us. In fact, we need our guys to put in good defence all game.

My hope is that we do not have any binning of our players in the game (I wouldn't mind a couple of Eels guys though). The past two games we lost Su'a in the first half which started the rot. This is a game in which Hook has got to get the players to play with better discipline.

Burgess needs to be in the team. It is not a trial match

JDB should be the first forward picked. Players around him play better when he is on the field. Burgess has had a long lay off, when he becomes match harden and along with Woods we have 2 big bobbers up front which we need if we are going to make the 8.

Not sure how many times this needs repeating.

JDB wasn’t found not guilty.
He was found not guilty on one of the counts.
How you find him not guilty on one count of what was an alleged unbroken assault is beyond me.

It was not guilty on one count and no verdict on the other five. There's a range of different, separate charges in most sexual assault cases. It simply means there wasn't enough evidence for the jury to determine either innocence or guilt on five counts but there was enough to reach a verdict of innocence on one count. It effectively means: 1 not guilty and 5 other charges dropped. That's the legal process completed, done, dusted, finished and put away in a locked cupboard in a store room for ever and ever, amen.

I'm aware that there is a range of charges.
But when the charge that he was found not guilty on was a single specific sexual act that was part of the same overall encounter how can you find him not guilty on that and unable to reach a verdict as a whole. Especially considering that the prosecution case was of one sustained sexual assault with consent never present from beginning to end. It simply makes no sense.
