This is the thing with Mary. He has had the opportunity to blood Mann/Field for an extended period but hasn't. Widdop comes back to paper over the cracks. Mary needs to bite the bullet, play Mcrone off the bench to support McInnes & let Mann/Field pair up with Widdop.

McCrone wasn't the reason it was close tonight. We should have closed it out with 5 minutes to go.

We tried to put it to bed with a try and didn't work out that. Widdop did his best to get a repeat set.

Tigers centre their whole attack via Tedsco and too many times our kicks went straight to him with open space to run. We also let them run too much without a tackle and Tigers can offload quickly....too many times we were trying to hold a player up and he was able to still offload...need to work on that..

Harsh. That said, he does have some opportunities for improvement ...

We lacked patience and discipline today.

We pushed too many passes and gave away some silly penalties.

Our forwards did a great job as metre eaters. McInnes had an excellent game. Full marks to young Sele, another top performance. Excellent short pass to Frizz for a great try.

Back line was a little disjointed at times.

Josh McCrone's general passing was not good. Lacked precision as did his kicking game. Doesn't have the acceleration to trouble the opposition defence and put it in two minds.

Ugly win, but happy to get the 2 points.

Mann is a left sided player being asked to play right centre.

Simple solution would have been to play him at 7 with McCrone to the bench and Milne to right centre.

Frizz suffered a rib injury today according to Fox. I hope to see Host given a run off the bench running hard on the edge of the ruck. Expect Thommo to be suspended for that attempted trip.

Lets see if we can improve on that display next week.

Been watching Hunt tonight. He's been good. Set up the first try, his kicking has been very good and he is marshalling he troops around the field nicely.

Now here we go again , Mary , Mary seems like when things are going our way and the team is playing well he is ok coach . Here it comes , BUT ,when things dont go our way Mary struggles with his coaching . He dosnt seem to be able to mix things up , make the hard call , change a player , yea try Field like you say not for 5 min . We need to be much better than we are when we play the top sides .....

Simon Woolford was dreadful at his best and we bought him well after that.
