GET RID OF MCRONE

This forum could be great but there are so many idiots on here. Everyone in the red V played their part today and as fans we should be proud.

I struggle to stay enthused on this forum as there is a lack of quality in-depth analysis and discussion.

I wish the smart people would not bite at the imbeciles as hard advice they are to ignore - the more you don't reply the better.
So are you a smart person or an imbecile?
From your post it's hard to tell.
Last thing we need is someone to patronize the forum with posts like these.

McCrone has put in a few substandard performances this season but still manages to keep his spot. Aitken puts in poor performances and manages to keep his spot. Millward has stated Field is our fullback for 2018 but never gets selected at fullback when Dugan is out. God give me strength, I really can't take much more of this hopeless coach.

Maybe you should go do something else like knitting.

There is a large gulf between what Millard says and Mary does.

One can't help but think such thoughts will provide a different coach for 2018.

If the trend continues, whether we like it or not, it wouldn't surprise me to see Madge here next season.

Surely he's on his last legs at Souths.
The old Brian Smith approach only works for so long.

Just a thought.

Spot on

Super coach rewards his players more when there inept and doesn't reward players on the up or in form in lower grades

It is really amazing how Saints are still so competitive against the favourites like the Sharks, Storm and Chooks with McCrone at 7. His defence has been really good but his attack is shocking. If Saints had a decent attacking 7 they could possibly be equal with Melbourne as I feel they would have beaten both Chooks and Sharks.

Saints were ripped off with some bad calls but seriously with the Sharks playing the way they were and the Saints controlling most of the game, they should have had more points on the board. Their last tackle options which 95% went to McCrone (Why the F&*$ that was happening is beyond me) really killed the Saints.

I can't believe that is not a concern and is not being addressed as it should have been after the Chooks game. Against the Storm, Mann was more dangerous in attack than McCrone so they moved Mann to the wing (WTF). That was crazy. Mann may not have a good kicking game but McCrone doesn't either.

McCrone has played his heart out, now it's time for a rest.

Halves combination Field and Mann and Dufty at fullback. Let's go Dragons.

As Slippery Morris said, McCrone's defense has been the staple of his game... his kicking is destroying our ability to score points and keep pressure on. 3x 7 tackle sets in the first 10mins of the second half (when statistically that is the sharks bread and butter period) was unacceptable. A good compromise would be getting McInness to kick from dummy half (Cameron Smith style) to build pressure when the time is right, as at the moment, every team knows the ball will go to McCrone on the 5th tackle whilst Widdop is out... too easy to pick him off as we saw against sharks.

Also agree the bad call's by the refs shouldnt have cost us the game if our 5th tackle options were executed properly.

McCrone has played his heart out.

That he has done but unfortunately his attack is not good and costing the Dragons a loss even though they are dominating and controlling the game. The forwards would be spewing as they are putting in a good shift then the No.7 undoes all their hard work. Once fair enough, but 2 or 3 times, come on. Really there has to be a change and not just wait for Widdop to come back.

I'm not a Mccrone fan, however, I think we need him at the moment. From what I've seen this year he's had a couple of bad games, a couple of good games and the remainder average. He fights hard, gives 100% and tackles hard. Not a natural talent, has a very ordinary kicking game but is reasonably safe. I wouldn't swap him with Widdop out. Let's see how he is playing once Widdop returns.
