The Lumberjack at St George always brings his big flags. It almost hit a power line on R2K day...

The big flag armies have pretty much disappeared these days. The biggest lot I can remember in my time was 1987 Grand Final. The Manly squad had at least 20 of them. The Roosters of the early 80's to late 80's had plenty as well. I believe most of em are locked away in a cupboard at Bexley. With the bans at a lot of grounds on larger poles these days they have become pretty much obsolete. The 80's were the big flag years.

When the Broncos first moved to Lang Park they confiscated the large flags at the gates from fans who has been bringing them to games for years.

Only after a lot of bullshit where they allowed to bring them in. I'm not sure how things panned out but at one stage I'm sure they had to be checked in and actually kept on the premises.

But you aren't allowed to bring in flags larger than the flags you can buy from the merchandise stand.

One of the fifty million nazi rules from Suncorp Stadium. :x

Mexican waves are banned and once I was pulled up for taking in a 50g packet of Doritos because they weren't a sponsor and I might hold it up and show it on TV. I went nuts and I ended up getting the chips in but I lost my appetite.

They should have a flag section at Lang Park.

We need more huge flags all around.

I met a St.George fan on the way to Cronulla on the train. He claimed his flag nearly hot the power line at shark park.

I was going to ask about telstra for saturday.

We have a big flag from the pepsi days at manly, had the red and blue stripe in the middle, with the rest maroon and white. its about 3m X 3m, mabe slightly bigger.

There were plenty at brookie on sunday, both manly and the tigers.

Telstra have been excellent to the Tigers this year. Our club went to a lot of trouble to make sure we had our own bay where flags were given precedence to people. I recommend ringing the stadium management to confirm this.

The one thing I was a little disapointed with from Brooky was that we had some gronk sit in amongst our supporter group and than complain to security for standing because he could not see the match.

Of course we were shuffled along. I think security guards need to be given training on fair and equitable treatment

The biggest flag I've seen is the gaint Saints jersey that gets laid out across entire bays of seats at either Aussie Stadium or Telstra Stadium (where space allows). Not sure how that was made but it is incredible.

Yep, it's a banner, not a flag technically. But it's easily the most impressive supporter paraphenalia in the League.

Made by the fans for the team...
