Gidley for NSW fullback

Hayne has had one chance as NSW fullback and people are already calling for a change?

Give the guy a break. The whole team was attrocious and to single out his performance in that game is just ridiculous. We put up with Gidley at fullback for a while so its only fair that Hayne gets a reasonable chance to prove himself ( and i dont just mean game 2 and 3 this year, but basically next series too when we hopefully have a team that can actually challenge QLD).

Pretty much true. Our props are pathetic and provide us with no go forward at all. Limits everyone's abilty to create something when using the ball. However, Jarrad needs to pull his head out of his arse and have a go as well.

Gidley starts game 1 we score 24 points
Hayne starts game 2 we score 6 points

What?

All of those tries bar one were from kicks. And at least one wasn't a try anyway. Gidley played no part in them either.

NSW picked 'defensive' centres against QLD in Game 2 - went real well.

People calling for Gidley to be fullback are delusional - and must have ridiculously short memories.

Yeah that was the try when Hayne was playing fullback in the attacking line and Lyon was playing out in the centres.

Hayne had a horrible game 2 but he along with Dugan and Coote are the future.

Gidley starts game 1 we score 24 points
Hayne starts game 2 we score 6 points

What?

there were other variables that contributed to that difference.. not just different fullbacks.
your saying we only scored six points because we went from Gidley to Hayne
so what about...
tahu to scott
lyon to barret
kimmorly to pierce
perry to white
watmough to gallen

not to mention we didnt have LEWIS too :(
there were a lot of changes for origin two, you can't blame the team's performance of not being able to score more solely because you changed your no.1

Hayne hasn't been in his greatest form recently but even then he is still better then that goat Gidley.

Dugan and Coote are better than both of those nancy boys. Yet to see a reason why Hayne is a certainty for the side, he has been awful this year. Yes Mortimer is a idiot who has the attacking ability of a turtle, but Hayne has been useless!

Do you even watch parras games. He's hardly useless Locky! He does alot for our team and without him we would have lost alot more this season than we already have ( manly, storm games).

You're a donkey

Hayne single handedly has won Parramatta a few games this season, the two games against Manly immediately come to mind.

Dugan is playing tonight, i would think so long as he gets through the first 40 minutes of the game he'll be the best NSW fullback fit and ready for SOO III and i expect him to be named.

well actually thats a lie, i expect giddley or hayne to be named, and i expect we'll lose game 3 and who ever gets the nod will have played their last game as NSW fullback ever. Because Dugan will be a lock for the fullback spot from game 1 next year for the rest of his career.

Yes I watch Parramatta a lot, Hayne has been very ordinary this season and that is being kind. His form this year made NSW pick Gidley at fullback in game 1. If Hayne showed any form he would have been the fullback. He has been ordinary. He is not alone but he is your star player who has gone MIA most of the year!

He will only be a lock in once he gets to to the Roosters R69.

You have been around the game long enough to know this

Got a feeling he'll be fullback. I struggle to see what NSW have to lose. If anything it prepares the team for 2011/12. However I will say this, NSW need to stick with him regardless of the scoreline if picked and the same goes for Mitchell Pearce who should also be the captain in my eyes.

Idiot

Hayne was AMAZING in the following games this season

Round 2 against Manly
Round 7 against the Cowboys
Round 8 against the Bulldogs
Round 10 against Manly
Round 13 against the Storm

You don't watch Parra games, shut up.

Everyone has been "amazing" against the Dogs and the Cowboys, they frankly don't count this year. So we have a grand total of 3 "good games this season from the great Hayne, and I saw the Storm and the last Manly game and he was not that good, he was pretty good (in your top 3). He has been very ordinary in every other match, including last Saturday where he was so bad it wasn't funny!

Oh ok so NSW should stick with him regardless of how he plays but Hayne gets to piss off after one attempt?

Some people that post are so full of double standards. How many times do i have to say HAYNE HAD ONE CHANCE at fullback in a beaten pack and didnt really get to show what he had. Yet thats his time up and now Dugan after playing a handful of good games should get a run and we SHOULD STICK WITH HIM regardless of the outcome?

What a joke.

Gidley tried and failed on the 5 times he's been given the NSW fullback role. Hayne's done more from the wing in his games and deserves the right to hold the fullback spot as he's the only NSW player at the moment who's proven to offer something in attack at origin level. Agree with others that Gidley has been given too many chances, if Hayne can't star at fullback at origin level the next in line should be Dugan and Coote then Daylight before considering Gidley again.
