Well yeah, based solely on the premise it is a steaming turd of an idea. Then having watched some of the show I was able determine it was as rubbish as it sounded.

My and my family sit down and watch at lease a couple of hours after dinner most nights.

All of my friends and family do also.

It is very Normal.

I find Gogglebox amusing, it's not great, but I don't think it's bad either, It's interesting to see reactions and what people think. Some of the dumb shit they say is amusing as well.

It's at least different to all the over dramatic reality crap that on everywhere else.

And I can confirm it is fact not scripted at all. Why? Because someone I know is on it.

I've never actually seen Deadliest Catch, but I'm sure the premise is a bit more than "blokes go fishing for crab".
How about - Deadliest Catch follows the lives of a group of crab fisherman, who risk their lives every day battling the elements on the open ocean to put food on the plates of rich merkins".

It doesn't appeal to me, but I can at least see why some people would want to watch it.

I don't see how you could add an interesting twist to "People sit in front of the TV and comment on the stuff they are watching."
Is there any more to the show than that? Some little twist that could make it even the slightest bit watchable?
