we absolutely needed that!

the first half was terrible.

the titans deserved to win - & win comfortably.

you'd swear looking at the first half that the players believed the press we've been receiving for a couple of weeks.

the titans rolled us in the same area that the panthers exposed last friday - the ruck. we were unable to combat the little men who made easy yards the same way penrith did when they had a roll on us. we have a sh*tload of work to do in this area.

to their credit, the guys fought back - but make no mistake - we were a poor side tonight & the much better side won. f*ck referee decisions - we were really flat.

this result is a fantastic reality-check for the team. obviously we're in need of a bye, but i can't wait to see what we show next weekend - the cowboys are going to want to be sharp. & so are we given their little men as well.

whatever creeping said at half time helped, but i'd hate to be at training this week!

btw creeping - please remove albert junior from dummy half. cheers.

Thanks for saving me the hassle of wring a full post on my thoughts.

Titans were way better in every aspect. Can't believe we were any sort of chance, so thats a positive & we still completed our sets, but its a good reality check.

Flat from the start. They want to come out firing against North Queensland> we've bounced back well from our losses so far ths year, I'm hoping we can keep that trend going.

And yes - get Young the f**k out of dummy half. Thats a real weak area for us.

a kick in the arse can be better than a win which masks over cracks.

there is now no false sense of security given the titans carved us up in the same area that the panthers threatened to last week.

Considering we were down 22-2 at HT it was a F@#$ing good loss
but realistically we should not have been in that position

we're fortunate that unlike previous seasons, we've got wins in the bank. therefore, this loss is a really good reality check that hasn't cost us dearly.

I think we were flat not so much because the boys believed their own press but because we had a day 10 around which is close to having a bye really, just my opinion though.

I do agree though Young at hooker is not option don't get me wrong I love his passion and he is a great defender but he simply can't pass from dummy-half, finally I think Matty Head has been a real suprise packet this year every time he comes on to play hooker we look so much more structed, though Priddis should be starting no doubt.

Another positive of sorts is that our only glaring weakness is quick play the balls with scoots from dummy half, something all teams are suseptible (sp?) to.

The Titans haven't been that good all year, but the first half they rolled forward with ease. Meh it happens, clubs go in and out of form.

What really matters is we keep trying and we did that tonight when we could've easily just given up. I just hope we coming out firing against the Cowbooys.

I'm all for seeing the sunny side :D But I prefer wins

Looked similar to the Cowboys game, ie, struggling with the workload against a team that loves the artificially quick ruck. With the style we have adopted this year we'll have off nights every once in a while.

I couldn't believe how the first half went! Defence looked weak, attack didn't seem to exist, I was worried they would score another 20 or more after half time.

I know we got back to just one score from winning, but we never really looked like winning and certainly didn't deserve to.

Maybe there was a hang-over from State of Origin with our forwards?

What happens next week will determine if this was a 'good loss - one we had to have' or ...

I hope our boys have matured and bounce back strong against the cows.

We had our worst half of football all year tonight in the first half and still only lost by four points. We have to learn from this. There are positives from this loss: we scored plenty of points in the second half (something we have been told is a weakness) and we could easily have gone into implosion Dragons mode from previous years and let the Titans put 40 on us. As was mentioned before, although I would have loved a come back win, we needed to see how the Saints handle being behind early and this will help us at the back end of the season.

Yes, Titans deserved the two points. But it was a fair comeback from our mob.

I would have taken the win.
i reckon if we'd won on that effort, the cowboys would probably roll us next week.

i'd now like to think that we'll be extremely hard to roll given this lesson.

you're right though - the comeback was really good to see - & naturally i wanted us to get out of jail.

This result will bring them back to earth a bit. Good second half though as they showed great character and did not throw in the towel like other seasons.

Only frustrating thing is a win tonight would of put the outright first. 2 points clear with no byes.

Cowboys will be a tough game. They need to win that one that is for sure.

Winning is for losers anyway.

Gould nailed it after our loss to Cowboys. We'll play good, tight, defensive footy for a month or so, then one week we'll turn up off the pace.

That's what I'm hoping. If he can turn them around in a halftime speach, he can get them sorted out this week to forget the press and realise that you don't win premierships in the first half of a seaon.

Same. I'm more confident than I was before tonights game.

I don't think Bennett will blow up at the boys, but they will feel & fear his silence wrath, like a silent, but deadly fart.
