I'm sure Tuqiri used to kick goals for QLD in origin, surely he could take over the kicking duties?

Farah :p

And yeah, I agree.

Keef, Gibbs and Ellis definitely with honorable mentions.

On a side note, it's amazing how much better we look with Moltzen @ 1/2.

Ryan impressed me at fullback all though he went missing in support play. Mitch Brown had a decent game on the wing as well.

Well done lads,great game.
Apart from goal kicking,IMO that was perhaps our best overall game i have seen in a while.
Benj and Robbie were fantastic.
Gibbs and Keithy were great up front.
Heighno i thought also played really well, better than i have seen in a long time.
Moltzen-6/6 nuff said.
Ryan seems to have definately grown some. His kick returns were pretty ballsy at times.
Brown at fullback.......I'm happy with.nothing fancy, but seems safe enough.
Lawrence,Ellis and Ayshford gave us everything as usual.
Lote-great.Cant wait for tank on the other side.
Payten fairly solid in his first game for the year also.
Bench:
I think Flanagan is playing above his weight.
Fifita needs a few more games, looks promising
Cayless really needs to put some beef on.
Fitzhenry had a good 12 seconds on the field.

Well done boyos!

Great effort up front, laid the platform for Benji, Robbie to do their thing.
On Jason Cayless, anyone know how long we have signed him for? Hopefully not too long, he looks a shot duck to me, has offered nothing in the 3 games so far. Maybe its a fitness thing but he looks nothing like the player at the Roosters in the early '00s.

well said, i would like to see flanagan in the starting side so he can kick goals maybe to lock with heino to second row if he can back up tonights performance and payten to the bench either that or mullaney to fullback and drop brown.

I must also eat my words as earlier in the week i was giving ryan a bagging but i thought he played a very solid game tonight.

Never thought id say this but Beau Ryan was bloody fantastic tonight.

Heigno much better running wider and not at the markers.

Flanagan great addition to the bench.

Lawry was handy in defence and took some strong hit ups.

The superstar trio Benji, Rob and Lote were outstanding..earned their $$$$ tonight.

Great team effort.

Beau Ryan was great at fullback,
Moltzen great at halfback,
Payten and Gibbs made a huge difference,
Keith and Gareth solid as usual,
Benji was brilliant.
Goalkicking will be our problem, and may be the difference between winning and losing / making or missing the semis.

you lot look a million times better with Moltzen at 7. You have to be dreading the inevitable return of Lui... and has Sheens re-signed?

Am I the only one who thought Moltzen looked absolutely out of his depth? The only time he touched the ball in a crucial position, he couldn't even get the grubber through the defensive line. It was like watching a ring-in they'd found in the crowd. Even allowing for the fact that I don't like him, I swear he was awful. Can anyone tell me what he actually did out there? I suppose the one saving grace is that while he did nothing useful, at least he wasn't f**king our sets up not getting us any field position and knocking on simple takes.

You need someone to tell you what he did out there eh?

OK.

I suppose the sublime grubber he put through for Ashford to score in the 15th minute doesn't count? Not that it was a crucual position or anything - the score 4-0, 10m out and with nothing on?

And while we're on the subject, if you have the game recorded, take a look at the pass he throws Marshall (after ordinary service by Farrah) that leads to the Flanagan wrap around try. A bullet 20m torpedo that lands smack on Marshall's chest, the Parra cover defence given no chance to get across.

And what is it about the body language of this team that seems to fire up when this guy's in the thick of it?

Not liking a player for the sake of it is understandable but ultimately kinda dumb. Show some intelligence and get over it.

That was his first 1st grade game at half for quite a spell and against quality opposition.

Draw your own conclusions.

He passed the ball. And it went to Marshall? Really? f**k me, I'll call McCarthy and get him fitted out for his Roos suit then. Seriously? You're justifying his performance because he passed the ball the way expected of any first grader? Jesus Christ.

Sublime? The f**king thing was hacked into the in-goal and would have gone dead or been collected if he'd connected properly.

I'd love it if you were coach of this team - I actually think you'd give me a run.

I thought Moltzen actually played well.. I would of liked to see Ryan stay on his wing, and Mullany thrown in at fullback though.. Maybe Mullany would of kicked at least a few conversions.

Are you serious? What do you expect a halfback to do, if not pass or kick the footy to the right player at the right time, in the right way?

I thought Moltzen started and finished the game pretty well, but he did seem to go missing for a bit there.

Ryan at the back looked good to me. He's got a few things to work on but it was a good start...

Beau Ryan had a great game at fullback, ever since Hodgo left I wanted him there.

Maybe we could blood Mullaney on the wing? Or just get anyone else to kick... Lote used to kick in Yawnion so maybe we should give him a go.

From a neutral fans perspective, I think Moltzen is the answer to the 7. The team looks far more balanced with him there.

I would like to eventually see, once everyone is fit:

1. Lote Tuqiri (the roaming commission would do him good)
2. Beau Ryan/Mitch Brown
3. Blake Ayshford
4. Chris Lawrence
5. Taniela Tuiaki
6. Benji Marshall
7. Tim Moltzen
8. Keith Galloway
9. Robbie Farah
10. Bryce Gibbs
11. Mark Flanagan (the new Benny Galea)
12. Gareth Ellis
13. Chris Heighington

14. Daniel Fitzhenry
15. Liam Fulton
16. Todd Payten
17. Jason Cayless/Andrew Fifita

That could almost rival the 2005 team - lets do a quick comparison, with a few positional changes for comparisons sake:

1. Tuqiri v Hodgson
2. Fitzhenry v Fitzhenry
3. Ayshford v Elford
4. Lawrence v Whatuira
5. Tuiaki v Richards
6. Marshall v Marshall
7. Moltzen v Prince
8. Galloway v Laffranchi
9. Farah v Farah
10. Gibbs v Gibbs
11. Flanagan v Galea
12. Ellis v O'Neill
13. Heighington v Heighington

14. Halatau v Brown/Ryan
15. Fulton v Fulton
16. Payten v Payten
17. Cayless v Skandalis
