At the end of the DKR, Batman specifically mentions how Gordon comforted him after his parents were murdered saying a hero could be anyone even the simple act of comforting him was "heroic"

I just thought the way their meeting was done in a subtle nature in the Nolan trilogy was superb. The fact their meeting wasn't glorified - but you then got to see the impact of Gordon's comforting Bruce much later on.

I do appreciate they need to put their own spin on it - I just found it so hammy.

Saw the second episode.

Spoilers below.

Found out even Gordon's boss and the mayor is bent. No wonder Gordon is going to lose this war on crime until Batman shows up. Liked the further development of Gordon's character being a kid protector and allowing the beating of a childnapper. Also liked Selina being wised up on using her female gender against the Officer and forcing him to get Gordon for her.

Batman TV series Gotham the most illegally downloaded this season

Even in Australia, the Nine Network, which is set to screen Gotham, has moved its premiere date forward to take advantage of the buzz being generated across the world.

No air date has been announced but a Nine spokesperson said the series will be "fast-tracked to air this month".

FTA is such a reactionary industry. I wonder when they were planning to start airing the show. half way through the season? when it ends in the US? at best they will start showing it after 4 episodes have been aired in the US.

While I'm not a fan of Foxtel's pricing and packaging, at least they've had the common sense to air popular series as quickly as possible. Channel 9 continues to demonstrate how far behind the times it is. But I'm sure they'll just sit on their hands and blame those thieving pirates and hope it stops.

Quite enjoyed the second episode. It felt less heavy-handed than the clumsy way the pilot shoe-horned in the introductions of Poison Ivy and Edward Nygma, and focused instead on a few interesting storylines.

Love every scene with Penguin in it, the casting for him has been absolutely spot on.

Favourite scene was definitely the interaction between Falcone and Mooney. Just some intense stuff.

JPS has been annoying me a bit though. There is just something that is off about her acting, doesnt seem quite natural

I liked that they actually made Gotham Gothic (One of my major gripes of the last two nolan movies, that and Batman walking the streets during the day and getting into a fist fight in the third)

I liked the overall idea of the show and I think there is heaps of potential.

I did kind of get the shits with the "oh hey look, its catwoman", "oh hey look it poison ivy", "oh by the way it's penguin"

It just seemed a bit forced to me.

I'll give it my usual 6 episode trial, if I don't like it fully by then, then I'll be out.

I am a big fan of Donal Logue, Terriers should never have been cancelled!

I was ready to write the show off from the start but just finished with the first two episodes and so far so good I must say.

The first episode was pretty disappointing. I'll give it a few more eps but unless it improves dramatically I can't see myself sticking with it.

So they ask to search the guys house, he then does a runner, fires a couple of shots at the cops, grabs a knife, tries to put it through a cop, gets shot, dies...

... and the cops killed an innocent man.

His wife had a black eye and looked nervous so could be running because of that...his story was a history of violence and theft. That's what I can think of

Balloonman.... The hero that inspired Bruce Wayne on his path to become the Dark Knight. The hero that Gotham needed.....

I like the show, but I'm not sure about Gordon always hanging out at Wayne Manor discussing cases and gangland wars with a kid.
